Manilla Community Hall is located in Manilla, Ontario Canada. We have been bringing the community together since 1945 south of Hwy 7 in Manilla, Ontario.

It is available for rental for meetings, parties, community events, sports clubs and more by visiting the Township of Brock website. The Manilla Community Hall has held many family celebrations throughout more than 50 years in the community; we’ve hosted dances, field days, tournament level baseball, dog training classes, senior’s exercises even weddings and anniversaries. We are planning on creat

ing new traditions with more activities while still keeping it as a community meeting place. Some of the upcoming fundraising events are at the Manilla Hall; we are having a Bar-B-Que with a Yard/Bake sale and Children's Activities on Saturday September 28 from 10-3 and a Pie Sale Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend. We are enthusiastically fundraising and attracting ideas for creative uses of the Manilla Community Hall in order to keep the doors open for our community. Manilla Community Hall is located on Simcoe St. It is available to rent for meetings, parties, community events, after school clubs, sports teams and more. Hi everyone,

Welcome to February. More winter, more snow, more icicles and
Valentines Day! And I don’t mean a box of chocolates, or an “I love
you”, (unless you have a significant other close by) but just a
thoughtful gesture is always welcome or a phone call to keep us warm in all this COLD weather. This year the same day also starts Family Day long weekend! For some it means an extra day off work and for some of us a time to get together with family. However, you enjoy it, just do it!

We are planning to have some pie baking days this coming year to keep us stocked up for our Fiddle Jam days. If you would be interested in doing some baking with us, just let us know. Possibly in March, September and January. We supply all the ingredients you just join in the fun. Our first pie baking day will be decided at our next meeting.

Thursday, February 20 is our Food For Thought Luncheon with speakers starting at 10:00 AM including Ludmila Haynos-Owen from Lavender-Blu Farm near Seagrave (think spring), then Debbie Dawson from Hearth Place in Oshawa and finally Tammy and Susan from Silver Lights Senior Services in Lindsay. Following is a homemade lunch, all for $10.00.

Our Fiddle Jam is on Sunday February 23, from 1:00 -5:00 PM. Keep warm with some toe tapping music, dancing and lots of friendly faces. There’s draws, prizes and food too!

Looking back over some of my papers, I found this. Some Oxymorons:
-Why is the third hand on the clock called the second hand?
-Why does “slow down” and “slow up” mean the same thing?
-Why does “fat chance” and “slim chance” mean the same thing?
-Why do we sing Take me out to the ball game” when we are already there?
-Why are they called stands when they are meant for sitting?
-Why is it called “after dark” when it is really “after light”?
-Why are a wise man and a wise guy opposites?
-If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
-If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
-How come abbreviated is such a long word?
-Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? I dunno, why do we?

Well we have a bit of a pickle.....Santa's elves are getting up there and we are missing children's names!
Apparently at the Sunderland Fair this year a parent or grandparent signed up 3 children and gave this info to Papa Elf....who passed on to a "shall remain nameless" Elf who promptly lost it.
We have been holding thier space in the hopes that they would reach out, but haven't heard so we are hoping you are on Facebook to see this.
We would hate to see any disapointed kiddos on Santa Day.

So please reach out if you remember signing up at the Sunderland Fair, I can only hold these spaces a few more days and then will have to release them.
Help a forgetful elf out please! :)

Calling all bakers! TOMORROW is our PIE BAKING Day! 🥧- Wed Sept 25th - 9am till done!
Come join the fun and help the Hall Board make up pies for our annual Pie Sale! Whether you are a veteran pie baker or just starting out we'd love to have you! We need apple peelers, mixers and rollers.
You don't have to stay the whole day, you can come in and work for an hour if that's all the time you can spare.
Please let us know when you think you're coming and for how long so we can prepare. Don't forget to bring your favorite paring knife, rolling pin and apron (or use ours no worries)🙂

Our beloved community hall is buzzing with activities and we are always in need volunteers to keep that momentum going. Whether you enjoy meeting new people or want to give back there's a spot for you!

Right now we are looking for some people to help set up and take down tables & chairs for our events. These jobs are quick, easy (also great for teens needing volunteer hours!!) and if you're lucky might even include a slice of homemade pie!😉

It's that time of year again...our annual PIE BAKING WORKSHOP is next week! 🥧- Wednesday Sept 25th - *9am -5pm!
