October 2025 Newsletter
Hi everyone,
October brings all the beautiful colours of fall. The calendar says
that fall started on September 22 but we know it starts when the frost comes and we have to bring in all the plants and vegetables that can't stand the frost. But it is a great time to go for a drive and enjoy the colours of the changing leaves. Take time to enjoy all the
seasons, I think summer all year would be so boring! In October we
always look forward to getting family together for Thanksgiving and to enjoy the fruits of our labours through the growing season.
October 10 is our Thanksgiving Pie Sale! from 3:00 pm until sold
out. This is one of our fundraisers for the Hall. This year we will be
putting up our price by $2.00 to $14.00 like everyone else has to do. This is where we meet a lot of our friends and neighbours each year.
October 16 is Food For Thought from 10:00 AM -1:00 PM. Our speakers this month are Jocelyn Enright from the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre telling us how to recognize abuse and how to intervene, then Lisa Loader from Kawartha Lakes Legal Clinic telling us when and where help is available and followed by Angela Fornelli with a surprise.
Admission $10.00. Please RSVP to Anne at 705 357 3637
October 25 is Children's Halloween Party 2025! from 10:00 AM –12:30 with games, activities and treats for everyone. $5.00 per child and volunteers are always welcome. Please RSVP to their website at here: https://forms.gle/QgFBGLYEvNw3hdzPA
October 26 is Fiddle Jam from 1:00 -5:00 PM with great
fiddle music, all types of dancing, prizes and open mic too with all
kinds of music and entertainment. And a good time is had by all.
Admission is still $5.00.
