Mary Ann Shad is an iconic figure in North American Black History. She was an activist, and fought for the freedom of enslaved Ontarians. Her lifetime accomplishments were remarkable! She was the first black woman to publish a newspaper in North America, and the first black woman to gain a law degree, amongst many other accolades!⁣
⁣yemi is a phenomenal artist who created this beautiful contemporary portrait of Mary Ann Shad. This portrait symbolizes everything that Mary Ann Shad emulates. Strength, royalty, and perseverance.⁣

When our client asked for us to create a backdrop that incorporated one of his wife’s favourite portraits for her birthday, it goes without saying, we were honoured! 💜⁣

Happy Earth Day!

A Short History of Earth Day

In 1969, against a backdrop of the Santa Barbara oil spill and the flaming Cuyahoga River, Senator Ga***rd (yes, really) Nelson was inspired by campus anti-war demonstrations to wonder why similar bursts of energy, passion and idealism couldn’t go toward environmental action. He proposed a day devoted to a national environmental “teach-in” on campuses countrywide, an opportunity to celebrate “an environment of decency, quality and mutual respect for all” living things.

Rather than relying on centralised coordination, Nelson shrewdly insisted on grassroots organisation, with individual communities planning the events they wanted. Thus, in Nelson’s words, Earth Day “organised itself”–with some help from his non-profit outfit, Environmental Teach-In, to promote the day and catalogue its multitudes of events.

How stunning 😍 is this dress by one of my favourite designers ....
As I was heel toe express’n it through the streets of Honolulu (on a quest to track down some hairspray with my friend Sultan) This dress caught my attention, leaving me with no choice but to put the quest on hold and venture into . This boutique is the perfect tranquil space needed to make the oh so challenging decision of which dress to choose. It’s now a year later and I’m still mesmerized by the dress that stopped 🛑 me in my tracks.
Guess what? This dress is carbon neutral 💕... you do not have to compromise luxury to be sustainable 😉 Hawaii is a perfect destination to have an ecoluxe wedding. Can Inspired weddings make that happen? Let’s just say “I do”!!!! 💎

“Castello del Trebbio” means to stay in harmony with nature. With the natural splendour of the castle and incredibly well preserved environment, our overall objective was to show how beautiful organic and historic elements can be outside of the typical rustic or Boho chic vibe. Sustainably doesn’t mean compromising luxury. Imagine having your cocktail hour or intimate wedding reception, in the wine cellar of a castle surrounded by award winning wines. It is said the wine made at Castello del Tribbio are the manifestation of two souls…wow!
