Instead of tossing garter at our wedding, we washed each other's feet, following what Jesus did. 💒🥰

It was one of my favorite scenes during our ceremony as we imitated Jesus' example of servanthood, security, love, and humility.

In ancient Israel, it is one of the wife's main duties to wash her husband's feet no matter how many servants she has. As I did that to my groom at the altar, it was like me saying "I submit to you as I submit my life to Christ."

And while my husband was washing mine, he reminded me of Jesus who, despite being so deserving of devotion, came not to be served but to serve.
