Country Heritage Park is thrilled today to welcome MPP Zee Hamid's office, as well as our staff, Board Members, and OTF representatives to our Puslinch Town Hall - to recognize and thank the Ontario Trillium Fund for their Capital Support in 2024. With their generous support, we were able to renovate our onsite food bank and to increase production in our Aquaponics and Hydroponics systems, all to support our community and education!

A huge thank you to our Aquaponics Coordinator, Juan, and our CHP Ambassador Lucy, for speaking to our innovations in sustainable farming using Aquaponics and Hydroponics!

Country Heritage Park features active farming operations that highlight traditional agricultural practices and provide hands-on learning opportunities. The park is home to community gardens where visitors can explore sustainable gardening techniques, grow their own food, and learn about local agriculture. In addition, the park hosts a variety of farm animals, including heritage breeds of livestock, offering an authentic experience of farm life. These animals help demonstrate the role of animals in agriculture, while the gardens showcase the connection between farming and food production.

Together, they provide a living history lesson and a deeper understanding of farming's impact on our community and the environment.

The Aquaponics program at Country Heritage Park combines innovative farming techniques with sustainability to create a unique learning experience. In this program, fish and plants thrive together in a balanced ecosystem, where fish waste nourishes plants, and plants help filter the water for the fish. This system not only serves as an educational tool, teaching visitors about sustainable agriculture and the science behind aquaponics, but also supports our onsite food bank. The fresh produce grown through this program is donated to the food bank, helping to provide nutritious food to those in need in our community.

Welcome home Pumpkin!!! Our awesome community came together, and Pumpkin is back home with Socks, Goat and his other kitty companions!

While we do understand that Pumpkin and our kitties do look a bit different than a housecat - they are working barn cats! Barn cats tend to bit a bit thinner, and they definitely don't mind the rain or mud!

If you see a kitty on our grounds, please just leave them! They're our colleagues!!
