QUESTION OF THE DAY:
"Why did you start your business?"

Growing up in a music-loving family, I was exposed to a lot of timeless music from many different eras, and many different cultures. I took piano lessons for 10 years, and learned the fundamentals of music writing, and although I progressed quite far, I had a love for technology - Whether it was "Frankensteining" Stereos together, or fixing old speakers, I found myself often being asked to play music for parties and other small events.

In Grade 11, I learned to work our school's sound system and lighting equipment - Our theatre was the home venue for the Mississauga Symphony, and rented regularly for local events, and I started getting paid to work there. Some events followed with a "Social", where I was also booked to play music. And this is where I realized I could make a business of this.

In my last year of high school I got a job working at a store that sold and rented DJ and Band Equipment, and also had a record store - It was the perfect environment to learn from the veterans, and mentor the beginners. And those that mentored me, and those that came on board with Feedback Event Services became my extended family.

My business is the result of a love of music, a passion for technology, a large network of peers, and the joy of helping people enjoy the little pieces of their hectic lives that they spend at the event that I am performing at!

THE NUMBER ONE QUESTION I AM MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED:
"How do you assign the DJ to our Event / Wedding?
My answer to this question has remained the same for my entire career.

It is quite common for a DJ company to feel they need to assign an entertainer FIRST to get the booking, not having aquired the details to know if that person is the best match or not. I have had my fair share of being booked to perform weddings prematurely by other DJs, and then having to stuggle - Either I am not comfortable with the music genre that they have preference to, or I am out of place in their cultural group, or at times the bride and groom had technical requirements or MC expectations that were not my forte. This has led to many horrible nights for me, and sometimes those nights became less than stellar for the clients.

With Feedback Event Services, my approach is to gather all of the likes and dislikes of each client, and account for all of their event needs, and THEN assign the right team member(s) to get the job done comfortably, and effectively. The client is hiring me (and my company) based on our seniority in the business, referrals by others, and the understanding that we do not take anything lightly. Now, this isn't always possible with time or communication restraints, but I will always have the best interest in mind of both the client AND the staff - If everyone is stress-free and having fun, it will show in the results!

With this being said, the sooner that a client can submit their requests and requirements, the sooner I can assess who is the right person for the job, and sooner everyone is confident and comfortable!
