Dear friends and patrons,
it is with great regret that I announce that Imli Foods will be closing down end of May 22 after being in operation for three years . The current conditions are not helping in continuing with the business. I have reached this decision after a lot of thought and heartbreak. I had opened this business to put Maharashtrian food on the map and worked super hard to make it happen. But no one saw Covid pandemic coming and it has not helped the restaurant industry. This was a completely self financed venture with no support and I am in tears announcing this decision.
I still have a lot of groceries stock remaining and a lot of the stuff imported from India. My ask is for your support to come buy as much stuff as you need to help me with the losses. I am incurring a huge financial loss due to this turn around. I will have a lot of furniture etc for sale too; will post details shortly.
I will still be continuing this venture from home on a much smaller basis for catering and weekly tiffin pick up only.

We get a lot of calls regarding our Pre/ post natal laddos and supplements. With a huge referral back up and the impeccable quality of our ingredients the demand has just soared in the past few months. Our prices are very reasonable and these goodies are not taxed either.
Please find below our items with explanation and pricing-
1. D**k( Gond) and fry fruits laddoo- Made with shuddh ghee( made in our own kitchen) , Edible gum and dry fruits these laddoos pack a major nutritional punch. No refined sugar is used and only half the quantity of jaggery is added with the remaining half from khajoor ( dates) paste; we pack in nutritional value while eliminating as many empty calories as we can.
2. Dry fruits laddoos- For people who don’t like/want Gond in their laddoos.
3. Methi laddoos- Fenugreek powder soaked in ghee for many days to remove as much bitter taste as we can and then added to Whole wheat flour , and coconut.
4. Nachni (Ragi) laddoos- nachni has now joined the ranks of Super foods with good reasons. This is the only laddoo with sugar added.
5. Milk supplement- powder of Shatawari ( promotes good lactation), kesar ( saffron) almond flour , cardamom powder etc.
6. Bhakris ( Rotis) - We now offer 5 different types of bhakris on a daily basis- Jowar, Bajra, Rice flour, Nachni and 11 grain. Of course we still have the regular whole wheat rotis as well.
7. Fresh subzis, dals and usals ( legumes and beans ) are made every day. Green leafy vegetables are a must for good nutrition. Call in to to order as menu changes every day.

We're checking out some Maharashtrian food in Mississauga for this week's !

Imli foods is tucked away in a neighbourhood of mostly offices and factories but this gem is well worth seeking out.

If you're unfamiliar, like I was before visiting Imli, Maharashtra is a state in Western India and home to Mumbai. They offer a number of unique items that you won't find in the spots specializing in Northern or Southern Indian foods that are more common around the city.

Pictured here are the Sabudana Wade, a deep fried fritter made of potato, peanuts, chilies, ginger and other spices. The star ingredient that really surprised me was the tapioca pearls!

These were absolutely incredible when eaten fresh out of the kitchen. The bold flavours combined with the texture that was both crispy and melt in your mouth soft, was a lot to take in. I think it actually broke my brain for a second. 🤣

It had been a while since I had eaten something so unique and incomparable. An instant favourite.

Imli has a large menu with lots to try plus lots of pantry and fridge items to take home too.
