The tablet/iPod DJ is still alive and back at it! 😂
I'm excited to be DJ'ing the start of the night and the band breaks for Gordon Webster at Down by the Riverside - Festival de Swing en Beauce tonight!
Also, I'll be back as a DJ at Beantown Lindy Hop Camp in a couple weeks, where I'll DJ some evenings as well as lead the DJ Summit!
They'll even let me teach a couple classes with Lunou Samsonn Poirott ! Come hang out with us! :-D

Excited to be back at Boston Tea Party once again this year to DJ the Lindy Hop, Balboa and Crossover competitions (well, half of those I guess...)!

I'm currently organizing my music for next weekend's 5-6-7 OUI contests, and I ended up playing two songs back to back that have the same exact riff to start the song.

I've been listening to a lot of Coleman Hawkins recently. This specific recording appeared on The Hawk Flies High from 1957. It featured Jo Jones on drums, Oscar Pettiford on bass and Hank Jones on piano. I am obsessed with that sustained note about 30 seconds into the song. It's a single uninterrupted note for a full minute by Idrees Sulieman. Crazy stuff!

Keenan McKenzie Music is arguably one of the top current musicians in our community, and definitely one of my favorite artists. His first album "Forged in Rhythm" is fantastic, and I DJ his stuff all the time. Well, he's releasing a Christmas album! The first song, "Our Sweet Home", is available for listen and streaming on Bandcamp, and I can tell it's gonna be yet another great release from Keenan. Get on it people!
