Been making this on repeat this summer β¦ ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ICED TEA!
This thirst-quenching iced tea is a perfect brew for the week leading up to, or the week of a menstrual bleed! The star of the show is Red Raspberry Leaf, which is a magical herb for uterine health. The subtle kick of ginger helps settle the tummy and enhance immunity, with maple syrup and lime to help balance out the taste to be SUPER refreshing.
Ingredients:
- 1 L water
- 1.5β fresh Ginger, peeled and halved
- 2 Tbsp dried Red Raspberry Leaf
- 1 tsp Lemon Balm or Chamomile
- 1 tsp Fennel Seeds or Nettle (optional)
- 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey, to taste
- Juice of 1 large Lime
π« Heat approx. 1L water in a medium saucepan with 1.5β fresh ginger. Bring to boil and simmer for 10 mins, covered.
π± Remove from heat then add 2 Tbsp red raspberry leaf, 1tsp lemon balm, 1tsp fennel seeds, maple syrup or honey to taste (about 1 Tbsp is enough). Allow to steep covered, for 5-10 minutes.
πβπ© Strain tea mixture into mason jars and allow to cool completely. When cool, add the juice of the freshly squeezed lime. Pour over ice and enjoy! Reserve the remainder in fridge for 4 days.
Other winning combos: Sub the dry herbs for 1 Tbsp caraway seeds + 2 tsp chamomile β to aid digestion, relief from colic (if breastfeeding), and promote calm. Whatβs your favourite herbal iced tea?
