It’s going to look a little different from our last POP-UP there: More summer forward (we’re still in August folks!!), a different ceremony location (sunshine dance everyone!!), and fewer blankets (🤞🏼).

I was setting up my mat Sunday night, about to indulge in a full moon yoga practice on a dock in Muskoka when I bumped into this lovely (Toronto) Bride from 10 YEARS AGO. TEN! ⁠
⁠
“Vanessa, IS THAT YOU” I exclaimed?! We reminisced about how we didn’t want to ‘break up’ after their wedding because we had so much fun planning together. ⁠

As life happens, we both blinked, and ‘all of a sudden’ Ness & Dave are celebrating a decade of being married next month. ⁠

reflection • this time of year can always feel a little bittersweet. Who’s with me? Can any other industry peeps relate?

Work life slows down from an event ex*****on standpoint, and ramps up in an admin “get s*it done before the end of the year” kind of way. Mainly because I’m a procrastination queen when I don’t love a task.

We’re no longer constantly in front of people and “on”, but instead, left with our thoughts. Eek, imagine that!?

— Keep in mind this is the perspective of an entrepreneur who works alone —
.. These thoughts can sometimes feel overwhelming, all consuming, and doubt has a tendency of creeping in.

I’m over here flipping the switch and changing the plot line. Bye bye self-deprecation. Hello self (and work) reflection and growth. 🫶🏻

2024 is going to have some fun changes. I can feel it.

t h a n k f u l + h o r r i f i e d

As an empath, I am acutely aware that the world is not ok.

As unrest, war, conflict, and down right vulgarity occurs elsewhere, we carry on with our lives.

It’s easy to take for granted what a regular day is for us. We’re fed, watered, sheltered, safe, comfortable, and happy. When we’re not “happy” it’s generally for a reason that is quite minor, manageable, and not life threatening.

Our thoughts are emotional this week. Having a regular day seems incredibly insensitive and to think of anything else seems unjust.

As we try to keep our own home and minds steady and safe, we count our blessings that we get to be alive and live our lives.

A hope for simple human decency, kindness and love shouldn’t be a plea, it should be a given. Today and every day.

we actually vowed to remove this word from our daily language after the BIG “C” but it needed to make a comeback for this post.

These two are stars ✨

What you see here, is a couple in love who had a plan, and had to change a plan - quickly.

Dancing happily and effortlessly for the camera while we worked in the background and shifted both ceremony and reception from outside to inside.

They shrugged it off and laughed. They kept smiling, and went with the flow with grace.

Everything was perfectly different, romantic, and cozy.
