Hi folks, Nick here! I’ll be at The Old School from 10am until 2pm tomorrow (Monday the 23rd), with donated items that are available for free.

Need a Christmas tree last second? We will have two. Along with the things in the pictures and a few other items being dropped off. Hoping it can help someone this holiday season.

There will be coffee on, and some Christmas music on the speakers. Even if you just want to come and chat, I’ll be around!

Hope to see you.

Thank you to our prep team that spent the day on Wednesday peeling vegetables and cooking turkeys. Thank you to our kitchen crew Terri Lyn Foley, Danny Lemmon, Karen Negus, Lisa Irving and Keagan Whalen. Thank you to our servers Karen Bradley, Nick Bishop, Noah Johnson, Davis Pitts and Leo Marshall. Thank you to our greeter Amanda Lima. Thank you to our dining room volunteer Linda Disbrowe. Thank you to Rosemary and Danny for starting the decorating and to Leanne Wrathall and Rachel for stepping in to do the finishing touches. Thank you to Marianne Nash and the Two Tunics volunteers. Thank you to the St. John of the Cross Church Parish for helping us to create this magical space. Thank you to everyone who donated all of the lovely prizes. A special thank you to AHANS for funding us to this point in our project and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has given donations over the past 9 months. A special thank you to Dr. Fyre Jean Graveline, Liliami Maney and Circle Works for their generous donation. Thank you to our finance team led by Deb Stevens who helps to keep our numbers straight. Due to the generosity of community, we will be able to continue our project until spring!
We had a vision of community being together in a space that was welcoming, warm and full of good food and with hard work, determination and love it has come into being. Thank you to each of you who come out to support our Musqui Café. Your hugs, smiles, and big appetites are the reward for our hard work. The café is not just about eating. It is also about connection to resources, mental health supports, creating relationships, and being a part of community. If you haven’t joined us yet…. we hope to see you soon!
Sending you all Solstice greetings!!
