This is very well said!
Alright …. I think it’s time to talk $$$$$. It’s booking season and I received a phone call yesterday from a bride asking for pricing. Before I was able to give her any information, she said ‘I’ve spoken to a few florists and I just couldn’t believe the prices, they must be gauging’.
Full stop! 🛑
I responded ‘ unfortunately, flowers are indeed a luxury item and I highly doubt any florist is price gauging’ …
So let’s talk flowers.
🌸
We are so lucky to have flowers at our fingertips year around, and now adays, most varieties are typically available year round! Think of a strawberry, local in season strawberries and more affordable than the wintery imported ones … the same principle applies to a flower. Importing out of season - price jump!
🌸 Tip - book your wedding when your flowers are in season!!
🌸 wedding flowers are not standard everyday flowers. Typically, wedding flowers are premium blooms grown by less farmers - making the product high end! So when you dream of that perfect dusty orange rose, muted raspberry or epic peach, you’re requesting the finer things in life and you’ll pay the premium.
🌸inflation inflation inflation - I probably don’t need to get into this too deeply - but just like everything else right now, inflation is hitting the industry - I know, it’s not fun - not fun at all!
🌸 building up artful displays and bouquets - takes a Large amount of product. We aren’t just walking into a grocery store, picking up paper wrapped bouquet, and sending you down the aisle! You’ll be expecting a bridal bouquet full of magic, beauty and art! And we won’t send anything less out our doors.
🌸 experienced florists!! If you’re looking for custom installs, artful displays, or anything out of the norm - experience is key 🔑 we’ve been in the industry for 16 years and I’m very glad the start of my career did not involve intense installs! It’s a learning curve and you’ll want someone with the knowledge and you’ll pay for that skill.
🌸 so are flowers pricey - yes! But ohhhh so worth it.
HAPPY PLANNING
