Top 4 things to do as soon as you’ve secured your wedding venue!
1. Create a vision board of your wedding style. You may have had a Pinterest board of wedding inspo you started after your first date (or even before, no judgement 😉) but it is important to niche down to your favourites in order to communicate your vision to your wedding vendors. This helps ease the guess work of your vendors and helps you decide on decor most efficiently.
2. Research how to obtain your marriage license in your county. This is especially important for couples with a partner who is from another country! Give yourself lots of time to avoid stress the month of the wedding.
3. Are you dreaming of a religious or non-religious ceremony? These decisions should be made early in order to find a officiant who suits your desired style and preference that has availability on your date!
4. Once you have your date confirmed with your venue, send out your save the dates! This is particularly helpful for guests coming from out-of-town so that they can plan for travel in advance!

Why “Wakefield”?
Wakefield Estate is named in honour of pioneer Daniel Wakefield, who sailed from England in the 1800’s to settle a homestead in Oxford County. This stately granite stone house was constructed by the family in 1870 and stands proudly atop the rolling hills of Wakefield Estate.
