The company founders purchased their first store Debonair Formalwear in their early 20s while still dating. It was a quaint shop providing rentals of special occasion dresses for women and tuxedos for men. Knowing little about the formalwear industry and having no training, they gained experience organically. Both came to realize a passion for the company that would go well beyond. In 1985, young and full of energy they moved locations and opened the first Bridal Gallery. The goal was to showcase world renowned lines in a designer showroom environment, while providing a fun, personable shopping experience for all. As the business began to take off they outgrew their space and in 1993, decided to move to New Westminster, where the current location of The Bridal Gallery stands. Today the store occupies 16,000 square feet on 3 levels, and is Canada's largest wedding apparel store. Although many things have changed through the years, the original Bridal Gallery philosophy remains intact: continuous improvement and the highest quality is sought in every gown, every design element, and every aspect of the customer experience.

The process of finding a wedding gown is a journey. With many feelings, dreams, and ideas all centered around love. Brides come from all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures but all have the same goal…. to walk down the aisle on their wedding day feeling confident, beautiful and surrounded by those who love them. It is our goal to delivery on this vision.
