"The Way We See It; A Colour Collective Presentation" by PotteryWorks comes to the Anvil Center Community Art Gallery.

PotteryWorks is a studio/gallery space located in New Westminster that is supported by the Community Living Society. A collective of talented painters, potters and jewelers overcoming disability through their art.
The Colour Collective is a group of painters and photographers within the PotteryWorks studio that focus on the foundations of painting, colour theory, and the elements of design.
The Colour Collective features the works of, and studies different artists, art schools, theories and techniques. In the past, The Colour Collective has studied The Group of Seven, Marc Chagall, and Pointillists like Georges Seurat and Paul Signac.
The Colour Collective also includes Snap Photo Club, where artists go out into the community to learn the basics of photography. They later show their photos as they are, or use them as reference for their paintings.
This exhibit includes a collection of landscapes and abstracts from PotteryWorks Colour Collective studio sessions.

Since 2014, Anvil Theatre has welcomed over 90,000 audience members to enjoy a diverse realm of music, theatre & dance performances, workshops, talks, artist residencies & site-specific installations.

Over the years, Anvil Theatre has proudly established ongoing presenting partnerships including Arts Club Theatre, Jazz at the Anvil presented by Piva Modern Italian, the PuSH Festival, Vancouver Chamber Music Society, Coastal Dance Festival & the Royal Canadian Theatre Company.

Sing, move, play, and learn. These engaging classes will guide children through the foundations of music in a fun and interactive way. Classes are taught by highly qualified early childhood music instructors and musicians using a bespoke approach which takes the best of Kodaly, Dalcroze, Orff, and Colourstrings Kindegarten methods to instill a life-long love of music. Join us in the Anvil Centre Community Art Gallery next Thursday evening on June 20 for the opening of "Under My Wing" by Cedar Sage & Sweetgrass!

Cedar Sage & Sweetgrass seeks to encourage and promote young Indigenous Artists. We created Cedar Sage & Sweetgrass with the goal of giving Indigenous Artists a forum where they could show their best art, connect and encourage one another.

This exhibit is entitled “Under My Wing”. Taken under the wing means protection and keeping warm and dry, generally showing the ropes, coaching and nurturing. It's a reference to birds, who when they perceive danger, gather their chicks together and cover them with a wing.

Artists featured in “Under My Wing” include Maryanne Lindberg-Landrie, Pat Calihou, James Groening, Sheila Rae Lowe, Chantelle Trainor-Matties, Ryan Hughes, Jerry Whitehead, and Feature Artist Ronald George Straight!

We can't wait for Paper Play Camp this summer!

Get inventive with paper! Kid-friendly projects include recycled paper making, paper sculpture, card-making, paper bead making, and paper clay modeling. A focus on material manipulation development is balanced with experimentation and imaginative play.
