Sneak peak of the bowling alley🎳

Located in the basement of the Newcastle Community Hall is the Newcastle Bowling Alley. This unique bowling alley was set up as a “community project” by the Village of Newcastle residents in 1959. Currently today, it is a 4 lane bowling alley that is mostly rented for League bowling-6 days a week. These Leagues range from their four Ladies Leagues, Seniors, C.O.A.A., Mixed, Autism Group and a Youth League (5-18 years of age).

For the 2024 season, we are celebrating 21 years of bringing our community together through the gift of music!
As you know, the success of the concerts has been overwhelming with large crowds attending each week. This is now a much-anticipated annual series, running every Tuesday evening from Tuesday, June 25th to Tuesday, August 27th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Your organizing Committee is hard at work securing live music with anticipation of another successful summer season ahead, but the work is far from finished.

Without the generous sponsorship of our local businesses and individuals, we would not be able to continue the concert series. We are humbly requesting sponsorship of $250.00 or greater if budgeting permits, to assist with covering the costs associated with the concerts. We will be producing posters and flyers promoting the upcoming concerts, and as always, sponsors will be graciously acknowledged for their generous support.

The Chamber has sponsored this great event, and we hope some of our members may be able to do the same in order to keep this event running.

We are currently hiring for a Part-Time Contract Office Administrator that is organized and detail-oriented to join our team! As an Office Administrator, you will be responsible for booking various events, provide clerical and administrative support to staff, Board and manage client relationships.

PT CONTRACT
Hours: 25-30 hours per week
Flex hours may be required

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Prepare and submit Payroll and remit source
deductions
•Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
•Manage accounts payable and ensure timely
payment of invoices
•Create reports to guide future event coordination
and budget improvements
•Availability to work various shifts, with the majority of
shifts taking place during evening and weekend
hours.
•Please note that while the responsibilities listed
above cover the main duties of the role, the
employee may also be asked to assist with other
tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Strong organizational and time management skills to
handle multiple event bookings simultaneously
•Pleasant verbal communication and interpersonal
skills to properly interact with the public
•Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
•An understanding of social media and other
marketing skills
•Knowledge of performance monitoring methods
•Successful candidate will be required to have an
acceptable Police Clearance.

We are currently hiring for a FT FLEX Custodial position for the Newcastle Community Hall. If you have a love for older buildings and want to help keep our building sparkling now and for years to come, then this is the job for you. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Keeps building & property in clean and orderly condition ● Performs routine maintenance activities ● Performs heavy cleaning and lifting duties ● Assists with event set up/ cleanup SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL POSSESS: ● To be familiar with janitorial procedures, methods and equipment and have working knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform a broad range of maintenance repairs, as acquired through directly related work experience or equivalent ● Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment, safety procedures and supplies related to the performance of these duties is required. ● Possess a proven ability to work well in a situation with minimum supervision, to prioritize tasks on an ongoing basis, and to communicate effectively/courteously with tenants, co-workers and supervisors both verbally and in writing. ● Successful candidate will be required to have an acceptable Police Clearance.
