One of the factors that makes the Falls so impressive is the sheer amount of water cascading over the edge. Most of the tallest falls in the world have very little water flowing over them. It’s the combination of height and volume that makes Niagara Falls so breathtaking to witness.

Next up for our meet the team spotlight is one of our Account Directors, Carter Bondy! ⁠In his role, Carter manages the accounts and bookings for our local clientele, along with Consumer Shows and our S.M.E.R.F. (Sport/Social, Military, Education, Religious & Fraternal) markets.

👤: Carter was born and raised just down the highway from NFCC, in the city of St. Catharines, and stayed close to his roots to attend Brock University studying Sport Management. Along with hitting the books, Carter was also hitting the Rugby pitch as he played for the University’s Rugby team for 4 seasons . His favourite part of the Niagara Region is how close we are to Canada’s border with the U.S.A., allowing for cross-border sporting events to be held at NFCC, along with being near three major international airports, allowing for national competitions to take place at our building. If you couldn’t tell how much this guy loves his sports, he also enjoys playing the world class golf courses that can be found across Niagara.

💼: Carter started his time at Niagara Falls Convention Centre in October 2022, working as a Floor Supervisor in our guest services department. His experience on the show floor made him the perfect candidate to move into an Account Director role for the S.M.E.R.F market. Before starting at NFCC, he worked as a Bar Manager at a local brewery, along with his internship at Rugby Ontario and volunteer work with other high-performance academies.

😎: It’s no secret to anyone here, but if you spent some time with Carter then you would know that he has a massive soft spot for his friends and family and is a certified Momma’s Boy. Along with his love for his mom, he loves hitting up restaurants and will never say no to Pho or an afternoon bagel. Another fun fact about Carter is he was the recipient of the IAVM (International Association of Venue Managers) 30 under 30 Award in 2023, recognizing his commitment to the Niagara Falls Convention Centre and our guests.

😊: When asked what his favourite part of working at NFCC is, he would say watching as our building transforms from hosting 1000+ attendee corporate conferences, to hosting multi-day national competitions, to weekend-long consumer shows. On top of that, he admires the team-based approach of our staff, who always support one another and always give credit where credit is due.

A fully donor-supported breakfast yesterday during The Bridge Breakfast Program. The buns and fish cake were food recovered from the Niagara Falls Convention Centre and eggs provided from Open Arms Mission. Great protein for our breakfast guests. Teamwork in action! Happy .

Last week, we hosted over 150 students from Niagara College’s Hospitality and Tourism Management Program for a tour of Niagara Falls Convention Centre. The students had the opportunity to learn and ask questions from our industry professionals regarding event management, our day-to-day operations, and our sustainability practices.
