Rendezvous will be the centre piece of a national series of CVA encouraged Support the Troops rallies designed to commemorate the end of the Canadian combat mission in Afghanistan, welcome Canada's sons and daughters home and honour all those who have served in World War II, Korea, 33 United Nations peacekeeping missions, the Cold War, Gulf War 1, Somalia and former Yugoslavia. The Support the Tro
ops Rally will be held on Saturday July 9th from 10am – 10pm at the Gale Centre as a family friendly event. Enjoy a day filled with great fun, musical entertainment, food and beverage vendors, marching bands, a motorcycle show and shine, a magnificent display of vintage military vehicles, and a host of other activities for all ages. The hour-long ceremony will feature a tribute to the fallen, a tribute to the living including special recognition of Korean War veterans, Canadian peacekeepers and present troops who have come home. Military officials will be in attendance to speak as well as local, provincial and federal politicians. Special guests will include several wounded veterans whose sacrifice and struggles both physically and psychologically continue. The Children's Fun Zone will host many fun activities for children 12 and under from 10am – 6pm including:

Niagara's largest Poker Run through breathtaking Niagara Region landscape beginning in Niagara-on-the-Lake and ending at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls. The Run starts at 10am and ends at approximately 12:30pm. Registration is $25 (in advance) per rider or passenger, and $35 (day of), and includes an event t-shirt, cash prizes ($1,000 cash prize for top poker hand), and lunch with beverage. The Poker Run is followed by a Motorcycle Show N Shine where awards will be handed out for: Best of Show, People's Choice Award, Rider's Choice Award, Oldest Bike, and Furthest Distance Driven.
