On the heels of my post yesterday (Thank you all sooooo very much for the lovely comments and we'll wishes💚!!)....I've got some sweet home decor I've been working on!
It's that time of year when all the Christmas doodads are packed away and, I don't know about you but, my spaces are looking a bit...empty!
If you're not quite ready to haul out the Easter eggs yet but need/want to add something new on the sideboard, coffee table, wall... maybe even that empty spot in the bathroom....how about a splash of dried/preserved floral decor?!
Attention:These are not your Grandma's bloomers!!😁 These are pretty designs I've created using dried and preserved flowers and foliage paired with real-looking artificial materials!

Happy New Year!! 🍾🥂 It's still only January so...From all of us at the Lane, we would like to wish you all health, happiness and joy for 2023!
What have we been up to you ask??
Well...it has been an absolute whirlwind(that's putting it nicely! It was more of a sh at times!) of a fall/winter season...I have been quietly working on trying to balance my designing along with having to deal with personal and family health issues(just like sooooo many of you!💚). Around November a heavy bout of infections hit me like a ton of bricks paired with most of my immediate family also dealing with various health issues...the perfect cocktail to kick a one-woman-show down and keep her there for a while! Not easy in the best of times to balance work and family and life, even more difficult when you're dealing with any type of health issues!
I was very focused on the important things-being there for myself and my family! Because let's face it... yourself and family should ALWAYS be #1 on your list of priorities!
Some of you slipped through the cracks and I sincerely apologize for that! The few weeks leading up to Christmas was a complete disaster some days😔!
If you are one of the few that fell through the cracks and are maybe still wondering what happened...this is the reason!
The last months of last year I mentally shut down on many things including my creativity...my energy was focused on those around me who needed me and on myself!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to my friends who stepped up with messages, food deliveries and keeping us in your thoughts! It means sooooo much to know we've got a support group rallying for us in tough times💚
Now that things have settled down and we've had time to somewhat get back to our routine(and we're all for the most part over our health hurdles) I am focusing on getting back to connecting with you and to bringing you some floral happines!
Before I kick off this January's fresh ideas, I'd like to share a few pics of what I created over the past few months. From weddings to sympathy tributes, from every day pick-me-ups to birthdays and special occasion designs...a little bit of everything!!

It's been a wonderful and, at times, crazy summer and start of fall! Some days I was knee deep in flowers, some days I was head over heels involved in having a blast with my kids and family who ALWAYS come 1st at the Lane! Thank you to those who understood when I had to say no to an order because I was out playing mini golf or watching the boys drive go-karts or enjoying a summer afternoon on my parents deck!!
I don't even know where to start in my albums to show you all that's been going on these past few months so I'll just start... somewhere!

Check out these pictures of before and after of the peonies I snuck out of the pails and into my house!!🤭 I had to do a test to see how they bloom.. for research purposes!😉 and WOW...these beauties did NOT dissappoint! The Coral Charms have EXPLODED to show their gorgeous stamens and check out the colour!!
All of them opened soooo beautifully and the Sarah Bernhardts smell devine!
I admit...I am waitimg for the petal explosion now...my table will be full of a million petals any day now! But even then..they create a still life that reminds me of how grand Mother Nature is💚

Peonies are the type of blooms that I have a love/hate relationship with!!🤭
I LOVE when it's the season for the local stems, I LOVE how they come in all tight and like a little ball promising soooo much pretty...then they start opening up and you are WOWED by their soft, fluffy petals and soon you've got a blossom head the size of a tennis ball and most times even bigger sitting on your table!! The soft scent of them wafts through the room and you stick your nose in there everytime you walk by....and then BOOM!! Done blooming and you have three thousand loose petals lying there!🤪 😂That's the part I hate!
But seriously tho..how beautiful are these local peonies!!!?!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!🐣🐰🌿💚
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all who popped by yesterday!💚 It was sooo amazing to see eveyone, to chat, and for some-to meet face to face for the 1st time or whom I haven't seen since highschool!!🤗🥰
My tables were full, my hopes were high and ya'll didn't disappoint!
After a super busy day and fabulous dinner out with some fabulous friends(thanks Sandtrap Pub and Grill for filling our bellies with your awesome food!), then heading back into my workshop for a quick clean up, I fell into my warm bed for a good sleep to gear up for an afternoon with my amazing family today!
💚I am so blessed to have them! From their help getting my space set up for the pop-up to help cleaning my house, from graciously hosting any holiday dinners(because I'm always too busy those days to host anything at ours!) to just being there for us...you guys are just amazing and we love you to bits!💚
I have a handfull of scrumptious bouquets available(planters all sold out) if you need a last minute gift for yourself or a loved one! I'll be available until around noon when we'll be heading out to celebrate all things Easter today..shoot me a message if you need anything! These rays are doin' my soul soooo good!!! It's a throw-the-windows-wide-open/clean-up-the yard/clean-up-the workshop/shoot-some-hoops-with-the-boys/sip-my-coffee-on-the-patio kinda day!!(and the last intense hockey game of the season later this afternoon!! Go Wolves Team 1!!🏒💪🏼)
I am sold out of fresh stems for the weekend so I'll be planting up a few spring conatainers this afternoon out in the 🌞shine!

This past weekend I had the honor to create the florals for an intimate sweet-16 birthday dinner alongside the fabulously talented Beth Duc from Sparkle and Twine Event Planning in the gorgeous barrel cellar at Trius Wines.
THIS is one of the things I just love about my job..creating an atmosphere with florals!! Would it have been a lovely party without flowers? Absolutely! But c'mon...having a soft, dreamy AND scented cloud of pretty floating above the table..that is the icing on the cake!!

Anyone else wake up this morning and think 'ugh'??!❄️🥴
I don't know about you but we are soooo ready for spring! A few warmer, sunny days last week got me planning spring planters, spring wreaths... spring everything!
(I even went out and got the 1st pansies and bulbs and potted them into a few containers to sit by my door...I should've listened to the alerts for 'snow coming to Niagara-on-the-Lake' but I was in denial. Pfft.🤦🏼‍♀️)
It's ok tho...the real spring will come... eventually!! And in anticipation of sunnier days ahead, here's a snippet of what's been happening at the Lane these past few weeks. I am in spring wreath creating mode with hints of dried florals, real dried mixed with (fabulous)faux greenery and LOTS of one-of-a-kind creativity!
(I've been a bit quiet on social media.. with so much going on in our lives and the world, I've felt a bit overwhelmed at times! But...life goes on, flowers keep growing and the 🌞will come!)

Punxsutawney Phil and Shubenacadie Sam say more winter...Wiarton Willie says early spring...forecast says more snow...my arthritic toes say ouch...my mind says "I NEED FLOWERS!!"😁
The next few days I'm going to immerse myself in fresh flowers and gorgeous botanical materials, create scrumptious bouquets, beautiful botanical wreaths and lovely little (and not so little) arrangements like these👇😍
We're supposed to be getting one more piling of snow here in NOTL later today on top of what is left over from our last snow storm..let's hope it won't get too crazy out there tonight and tomorrow!!
