I’m a little late posting this (crazy work day that started in the dark and ended in the dark), but I wanted to say how honoured and proud I was last night to receive this award!!
I am definitely a behind the scene kind of gal and not at all comfortable speaking in front of a large crowd on a stage!! I wish I was, but that being said, this is what I wish I had said last night if I wasn’t stumbling over words as the color drained from my face!!
I’m just glad I didn’t fall on the stairs!
First of all, it means the world to me to be nominated. I feel like the luckiest person in the world having grown up with the family I had, I was taught from a very young age… a strong work ethic , the importance of camaraderie among businesses like your own, put your whole heart into whatever you do….. and carrying buckets of topsoil to the sterilizer in the greenhouse will get you a crisp five dollar bill!!!
Anyone who runs a business would agree how humbling it is when your recognized for your hard work, early mornings and all nighters, time away from family in order to build something for your family and the love you have for your craft.
This isn’t just me, this is 4 generations of people who have learned and taught and have been through the wringer and seen some amazing things and who were able to pass this knowledge along….. I will do my best to make them all proud!
