Our Story

Frequently referred to as a “hidden gem”, The Cellar Bar is tucked away in the undercroft of an historic bank building and is a welcome surprise for anyone who walks through our doors. Behind the black Cellar door is a space that has been carefully curated to take you back in time and to highlight the history and culture of our small seaside town. We’re believers in the importance of how a space and your surroundings can affect your experience. We aim to bring you to a place that not only makes you feel like you’re somewhere special, but will cement a memory for years to come.

As an event venue, the Cellar offers top notch entertainment and experiences. In partnership with other businesses, we create intimate music & dinner events that will leave you wanting more.
