Keep your Phalaenopsis orchid thriving with these easy care tips:

🌊 Watering: Water every 2-3 weeks when the top inch feels dry. Adjust frequency with changes in light & temperature. Remember, if in doubt about whether to water, wait a day (or two!). Watering in the morning is best, just 1/4 cup at the base of the plant. Do not let the roots sit in water. If watering in the sink, allow the water to flow through into the basin and ensure it drains completely.

🌞 Light: Choose a bright spot in your home that doesn’t get direct sunlight. A window with a sheer curtain is perfect. Dark leaves or red tinges indicate too little or too much light. Once blooming, you can move it out of direct sunlight.

🌡️ Temperature: Phals enjoy the same range as humans, ideally between 70ºF to 80ºF during the day. Avoid placing them where temperature fluctuates sharply.

🌿 Fertilizer: Use a balanced 20-20-20 orchid fertilizer at half strength weekly. Flush the pot with clear water once a month to remove salt buildup.

💧 Humidity: Increase humidity with a tray of pebbles and water placed beside the plant.

✂️ After Blooming: Once blooms are spent, cut the spike to encourage new growth and bigger flowers or leave two nodes on the stem for quicker reblooming.

🪴 Repotting: Repot every one to three years or as needed. Continue regular watering and fertilizing during waiting periods for new blooms.
