Volodymyr Cultural Centre (Oakville) Inc. was built in 1988 by the St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto to commemmorate the millenium of Christianity in Ukraine. The Centre was named after Prince Volodymyr the Great who accepted Christianity for himself and for the Ukrainian people one thousand years ago. Volodymyr Cultural Centre has become a valuable asset to Oakville and the surrounding area as it provides members of the community with the opportunity to gather together, to develop and strengthen friendships and to partake in various educational, recreational and cultural activities. The design of St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre reflects the Ukrainian culture and traditions. The patterns and colours on the floors and on the walls in the rotunda and banquet halls portray various forms of Ukrainian art including those depicted on embroidery, paintings, pysanky and wood carvings.

Last Sunday, we had the privilege of hosting an incredible Christmas show by the Gerdan Theatre — the biggest concert of all during their Canada tour!

As always, such events not only brought joy but also served an important purpose: to raise funds in support of Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor through auctions.

We would like to extend special gratitude to Iryna Sakaly and Рівненська обласна державна адміністрація for the extremely symbolic gift send from Ukraine to St.Volodymyr Cultural Centre - a piece of an enemy helicopter, which was successfully sold at the auction. All funds from this lot will go to the Canada Ukraine Surgical Aid Program, which helps Ukrainians affected by the war receive necessary medical care.
We are grateful to the organizers KAZKA Entertainment and everyone who joined!
