We have the Grand River Artisan Market happening on Highway 54. Right down the road on Chiefswood there is an event hosted by Ancestral Voices Healing Centre and the Grand River Champion of Champions Powwow literally a hop across the road from them!
AND if there’s still tickets left, MIC will be crowning the VERY FIRST Miss Indigenous Canada Gathering Place by the Grand on Pauline Johnson Rd.
ALL WITHIN 5 min of each other!!!!!

On July 5 Woodland Cultural Centre celebrated Robbie Robertson's 81st birthday and recognized his contributions to the performing arts community at the Gathering Place by the Grand 🎶🌟

Members of Robbie's family attended the event produced by Tim Johnson, and hosted by campaign chairs, Ava Hill and Ron Jamieson. The evening was closed by a powerful rendition of Robbie’s “Stomp Dance (Unity)’ and “The Weight” by all of the musicians. The event drew a crowd of almost 200 community members.

NEWS: Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust Announces Second Round of 2024 Funding Recipients

The Six Nations EDT is pleased to announce that $345,801.00 has been allocated to seven recipients for the 2024 second round of funding:

General Recipients

• Ganohkwasra Family Assault Support Services will receive $273,504 for expansion of their Gayenawahsra Healing Centre
• Six Nations Farmers Association will receive $4,999 for their Six Nations Food Sustainability, Food Security Task Force

Grassroots Recipients

• Oliver M. Smith Home & School will receive $13,298 for their ‘Edwadewayesta Ohwejadeh: We Learn from the Earth’ project
• Six Nations Girls Field Lacrosse will receive $15,000 to support the 2024 SNGFL season
• Miles to Go Cancer Support Group will receive $15,000 for equipment upgrades and replacement
• Mohawk Chapel Royal Coat of Arms will receive $14,000 for their Ceremony to Present Royal Coat of Arms to the Royal Chapel of the Mohawks
• Ogwaya’dadogehsdoh - Alignrbody will receive $10,000 for their ‘Indigenous Collective Wellness – resource story activity’ project
