CLOSED FOR SEPTEMBER! Except for private bookings.
This was a hard decision to make and it’s not forever! One of the really difficult realities as a business owner, is there are no sick days! It wasn’t my dream to open my new location in the middle of Chemo but that is the life of a business owner, there were days at the shop where I had to count through the minutes to get through it. BUT my customers have always been beyond wonderful.
I will miss seeing you all over the next months, while I go though the last of my journey. With that being said, we will be closed for the month of September. I can then focus on healing / health post mastectomy, without “worrying”about business life. I have appreciated all of your love and support and cherish you all 💜💜 We will miss you all and look forward to re-opening in October💜💜💜

Have you tried Pavlova yet?! This is one of my favourite desserts! I have worked very hard to provide goodies that are not on the menu at other local shops, this is that one item not easy to find and well worth the trip! (Happens to be GF!) This cloud of perfection is pure magic 😍$8 and the perfect share size!

Macs all day long! Raspberry, Salted Caramel, LONDON FOG, Pistachio, Mocha (made with ) Nancy is in our kitchen making the best of the best for sale at Scout! She is truly a master of her craft and I am so happy to have her in house while I step back from certain menu items. These are absolutely authentic, non of that buttercream business!!! And like all mac these are GF! (FYI Macarons are made with almond flour)💜💜💜 Most important, you can get beautiful boxes of 6 or 12 ($20)and these make the most gorgeous teachers gifts, or the perfect dessert to take to a friend! Open this weekend, location is in bio!

Yes these are absolutely the best caramel apples on the planet! Also, but not limited to, the best caramel apple menu on the planet. We have apples from in store and I am over the moon about it!!
These beauties are the “Red Roan” a tart perfect apple dipped in pure magic caramel, drizzled in quality white chocolate and rolled in freeze dried crushed raspberry. A few other items on the menu …Ginger Brûlée, Churro, Oreo, Chai Spice…and it goes on. We Open back up on Thursday at noon, but remember you can order for any day of the week!

Long Weekend Hours* Friday 10-6pm, Saturday 10:30-6ish, Sunday 10:30-5ish, MONDAY 10:30-5ish I am keeping the idea of late hour open, I get it, after dinner there are few places to grab a great charcuterie or dessert! If it is busy enough, our hours will extend to 9pm this summer!

Dont forget, our super cute shop can be booked for private events (just think how great it would be not having to rent a ton of decor for your next B-day or bridal shower!!) Finally! Need I say more?! The front end of the shop is open this weekend!!! You may notice a name change, but still the same amazing eats. “Scout” because I’ve scouted the best businesses with the best products, the best Chefs for restaurant pop ups. Amazing vendors with amazing goodies for Moms Day weekend. Each week, as more of my fabulous vendors settle the menu will further expand. I will slowly get back to the kitchen in the meantime! I cannot wait to see you all 😍😍😍 today is for hiccups but Saturday and Sunday the hours are 10:30 - 3ish (or later if people are still shopping) there are some cool things happening at the shop over the weekend posts upon posts will be coming throughout the day, sorry not sorry! 🎀

This is an amazing way to showcase your business, or expand from another city, storefront or your home! All outsourced products are sold under the makers brand, the best part you don’t have to be there! (except the micro coffee bar!) and my catering customers are sent to you, for your specific items. Rent varies depending on storage and display needs, Rent will run within a range of $150-$350 per month. Micro coffee bar rent depends on the vision! Those who are vendors also get dibs to run pop ups on days the storefront is closed. Vendors are also granted free private event packages!
I’m not looking to profit off of rent - clearly! I just want to be able to be able to focus on what I love doing, also, have various menu items in store, even when I am not there. I mean…I’m going through cancer and have 5 young kids…so even Jesus can feel my eye roll when people ask if I’m going back to working 6 days a week lol

As many of you know, I am anxious to open the Cafe, however, the universe has other plans for now (see previous post if you are at a loss) With that being said, many of you have noticed the multiple events happening in the space. I’ve had the space used for baby and bridal showers, birthday and galentines! It makes for an adorable temporary event venue, right in the heart of downtown, available up until I fully open. 💜

If you’re one of the many wondering when the H E double hockey sticks I plan on opening the new shop, you’re not alone! I’m an extremely private person so this is a cringe post for me, but the questions about my business is also very draining.
Trust me, I wish I was open and operating and seeing all of my favourite faces right now. I miss the girl talk and the many customers who became friends. And of course, prime commercial space does not pay for itself *double cringe* As luck would have it Cancer waits for no woman. I’ve known of the diagnosis for a while now, I was extremely blessed on having some of the loveliest downtown business owners keeping my chin up as of late (you may have noticed an all star cast working in the shop at Light Up Ok!) My main priority was to focus on my kids especially going into the holidays. It has been so very difficult deciding on what to do regarding the opening of the shop, if at all. I’ve decided to do what I need to do to get through everything and then open 🤞🏻 This is not my first time with cancer, same kind of different I guess you could say, it was caught fairly early so don’t fret because I’m not. Fret isn’t a good look for me as it turns out, neither is emotional eating, so I look forward to getting back to it and working my arse off for the next 3.5 weeks before surgery.

If you didn’t hear, this Friday (Light Up Oko) We are having a sneak peek in the new shop! Fun Fact almost Friday, the sign is still curing 👌 It may or may not be up (winter is the devil). We are in the same building, just street level - 21 Elizabeth Street, you can’t miss us! We will have all the favourites for grab and go, with sweet outdoor seating. Second fun fact, we are not officially open - open until December. Good things take time, so do the trades as it turns out lol, but I know everyone is curious what is going on behind the papered windows 🤣 Yes I can see you peeking in!
***CUTE OVERLOAD NEWS in place of indoor seating, the Okotoks U11 Yeti Hockey Team will be selling hot chocolate and goodies at the worlds cutest indoor hot chocolate booth, all funds raised will go directly to their team. Who can say no to a group of cuties?!! ❤️

Did you hear?! DID YOU HEAARRRR?!!! We are in the middle of moving locations, to street level! Same building, just easier access for all💜 We haves moved in to the old Blunt Hair Studio and are busy putting things together. I have spent months on market research and wanted to create a cool environment that offers food my local business colleagues do not offer regularly. I am a true believer in being unique to what we sell in shop. So some fun facts, we will have a crepe bar, legit Parisian style crepe bar. I know right! I can’t even with how excited I am about this! Other fun facts, covered outdoor patio is happening!….finallllly. Fun fact 3, this beautiful space can be used as a small venue as well! Look out for the best girlfriend brunch dates to ever hit Okotoks!!! Last fun fact, we are still taking preorders during this time, it’s catering business as usual!!!! We are booking up quickly for Christmas parties and orders, you know the drill, we make custom menus based on your food preferences and budget, this way we are all happy!! Stay tuned to more fun facts coming this month!
