Today is a leap day! Did you know some cultures believe it’s good luck to get married on a leap year?
Here’s another fun fact for you;
The custom of woman being allowed to propose to a man can be attributed to St. Bridget, who is said to have complained to St. Patrick about women having to wait for men to propose marriage. Patrick supposedly gave women one day to propose and it was February 29th.
I’m modern times we’ve thankfully moved to it being accepted any day of the year!

We are now officially in Autumn season!
Here’s a fun fact about this time of year:
February might have the reputation of being the month of love, but Autumn season actually sees a spike in romance.
An analysis of Facebook data shows that more people update their status from ‘single’ to ‘in a relationship’ or ‘engaged’ in Autumn than any other season.
It’s not hard to see why – who doesn’t want someone to snuggle up in front of the fire, or go on long woodland walks under the amber and scarlet hues of Autumn leaves?

Who doesn’t love to see a dog at a wedding?
Here’s a July fun fact about our furry friends!
Rover, a dog and cat sitting and walking service, released a report saying that three-quarters of Canadian pet parents who are currently engaged — or plan to be in the near future — will include pets on their big day.
The report surveyed 500 married or engaged pet owners in Canada and while 75% plan to include their favourite furball in their wedding or union, another 15% are considering it.

April showers are over, bring on May flowers!
Did you know that rain on your wedding day can also mean good luck and unity?
As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel! We can thank Hindu traditions for this belief.

It’s time to bring fun facts back!
Here’s an interesting fact and on theme with St.Patrick’s day just passing.
People are leaving traditional gender roles in the past. Including traditional wedding and proposal practices. Same s*x proposals and women proposing to men is on the rise!
The tradition of women proposing first started as far back as the 5th-century in Ireland. When St. Brigid of Kildare told St. Patrick that women should be allowed to propose instead of waiting for men to do so.
The story goes that St. Patrick made a decree that women could propose to a man, but only on Leap Day, February 29th.
It's said that Irish monks brought the tradition to Scotland, where a law was passed in 1288 which allowed women to propose to men. And if the proposal was declined, the proposee would have to pay a small fine!

40% of engagements occur between thanksgiving and valentine day. December being the peak time. It’s a time for coming together with family and all of those closest to our heart.

"Frank was our Officiant on our wedding day and he was wonderful to work with from the beginning. He was very helpful and encouraging leading up to the ceremony, providing pointers and advice for crafting a meaningful ceremony. Our phone calls beforehand helped us to feel like we were in good hands and ease the stress of the day. On the day of, Frank showed up early and he did an incredible job officiating. Our ceremony was outside and it was a bit windy, but Frank projected and spoke so well. Many of our guests came up to us afterwards to say what a great job he did and that they were able to hear him clearly in the back row. Thanks for being such an important part of our celebration, Frank!"

What is the Ring Warming Tradition?
“A tradition that originated in Ireland, ring warming ceremonies are now practiced at weddings all over the world. Simply hold each wedding ring in your hand when it is given to you and warm it up with a wish, prayer, or good thoughts for the couple. Then pass the rings on to the next person!”
