The Orillia Community Children's Choir sang along with a recording of a young, 12-year-old, Gordon Lightfoot during this past Sunday's Lightfoot Days Sunday Service!

In anticipation of our upcoming Lightfoot Days Sunday Service this Sunday, November 3rd at 10:25am, our very own Jim Lewis agreed to be interviewed about his musical connection to Gordon Lightfoot in Orillia during the 1950s. Jim is the composer-in-residence at St. Paul's and still sings tenor in the St. Paul’s Choir! 🎶 Thanks to Jim, Lynda and Angela for their ongoing contributions to the musical community in Orillia. To hear Jim’s new hymn composed in memory of Lightfoot’s “spiritual advisor”, Rev. Karen Hilfman-Millson (with words by John Oldham), join us for our Sunday Service as part of the Lightfoot Days Festival 2024! ☀️ Here is Jim’s story about the days of barbershop quartets in the 1950s and Lightfoot’s journey back to #orillia to be with his community at St. Paul’s in 2005, when he gave St. Paul’s a private, free concert. 💫
