We are so excited to announce that...

OUR DAHLIA TUBER SALE WILL OPEN THIS SUNDAY MARCH 9TH AT 12:00PM

Our site is now open to get a preview of the dahlias we'll be offering this Sunday.

Please note this is a LOCAL sale with pickup only in the Whitby area. If you're in Durham, why not save on those shipping fees?

Pickup will take place over 2 days on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th from 10am to 3pm. Location will be specified in your order.

These dates will be early enough for those who want to pot up their tubers to get a head start end of March or April by growing indoors. For those who want to wait until your first frost free date, tubers can be kept in a cool dark area until time to plant.

If you have never grown dahlias before but have always wanted to try, this is your opportunity to select from our tried and true varieties. I know you'll love them!

Dahlia Tuber Sale Coming Soon!

This season we are offering tubers from our own collection. These dahlias are the ones we grow for our gorgeous bouquets each year at the Brooklin Farmers Market.

The site will be open for orders at the end of this week and I'll send out a reminder.

The tubers will be pickup only in Whitby in April when the weather warms up. More info to come.

The first italian ranunculus I could get my hands on 6 years ago were a bright orange called Clementine. They were so plump and juicy I loved them!

But then I fell in love with Salmone, a softer peachy apricot, Rosa, a soft pink, Pastello, a dreamy pink blush and Bianco, a gorgeous white.

I'm planting all the above plus trying a hot pink variety this season.

While the beds are under mounds of snow, we're busy getting ready for spring!

Thanksgiving at the Brooklin Farmers Market Saturday October 12th will include Dahlia Bunches, Mason Jars, Table Vases, Dried Flower pumpkins and more!

With the low over night temperatures during the last week, and the chance of frost this week, our dahlia production has slowed down considerably!

We decided to delay pre-orders until harvest day later in the week to ensure we don't disappoint.

If you have already ordered, don't worry. We will definitely have dahlia bunches on market day. We just don't know how many yet!

Today's harvest for tomorrow's Brooklin Farmers market... The dahlias are still with us!

Saturday Oct 5th and Thanksgiving weekend Oct 12th will mark the end of the season for the Floral Farmer.

We will be taking pre-orders of dahlia bunches for Thanksgiving weekend 2 ways:

You can drop by our booth to order tomorrow or shop online at www.thefloralfarmer.com beginning Monday to place your order.

We will also have bunches available at the market on Saturday Oct 12th.

Fall Ranunculus Update Sept 2nd

Well it couldn't have been the worst time to plant these out with the heat we've had over the last few weeks.

Under shade cloth for most of the time, today I could finally take it off as the cooler days begin now.

Lost some, others looking sad, but still some decent ones among the bunch.
