harvest this week is full of absolutely stunning colours and textures, it’s leaving me speechless 🌿🌈 we’ll be bringing lots more mini flower bouquets and sunflower bouquets with us to this weekend! you can find our flowers at the booth on saturday morning from 9am-12pm 💐

happy weekend, flower pals! we’ll have a handful of these cute lil’ mini zinnia bouquets for sale at the booth at tomorrow morning from 9am-12pm 💐 these zinnias are just the perfect little pop of summer colour, we are absolutely obsessed!! 🤩🌈

our first bouquet subscriptions are heading out this week and i can hardly believe it 💐🦋 it felt so good to spend some time designing and putting together bouquets this afternoon. i’ve really missed exercising that creative muscle and am so excited to be jumping back into it again!

there’s so much going on at the farm these days, it’s enough to make our heads spin! in a few short weeks it’ll be time to plant the first round of flower babies out into the field. we can hardly wait!!

we’ve been busy little bees in the greenhouse over this past month and it’s really starting to fill up in there!! tables upon tables of tiny lil plant babes coming to life. it sure is special seeing all my flowers growing day by day 🌱 i can’t wait to bring these fresh, beautiful blooms to y’all this summer!! 💐🌷

been spending some time sorting through seeds this week and i don’t think i’ve ever seen such beautiful packaging like the packets from !! Petra and the whole Fruition crew also provide really great info and resources on their website for all types of gardening/farming topics such as seed starting, composting, and much more 🌱

i’m feeling so excited to ramp up my flower seeding in the coming weeks. there is so much to look forward to at this time of year!! 🌼🌷🌸

happy spring, my friends!! 🌞

the 2022 season has officially begun. we’re preparing to sow the first of our flower seeds this week in the greenhouse and i couldn’t be more excited!! this week we’ll be seeding some snapdragons and celosia with lots more to come in the weeks ahead.

having my hands in the dirt and basking in the warmth of the greenhouse is bringing me back to life after a long, hard winter. this truly is my happy place 💛

we are running a small cut-flower subscription as an add-on to the CSA program this season. when you sign up for a veggie share from Capital Greens, you have the option to add our flowers to your CSA! you'll receive 10 weeks worth of our beautiful blooms from July-September. spots are limited and filling up quick! you can find more details on the CSA program and where to sign up through the link in my bio 💌

the story behind the name 🏡

i spent my childhood growing up on a farm in the small, rural town of Strykersville, NY. on top of one of the outbuildings we had a large weather vane - a beautiful goose in mid-flight that seemed to overlook the whole farm. affectionately, my dad named our farm “Goose Hill” in tribute to our winged guardian.

i spent my days playing outside in the apple orchards, watching my mum work in the garden, helping my dad fix things around the farm, and running through the endless fields and forests that surrounded us. it was here that i witnessed the power of community through sharing food from our gardens, skilled labour, or simply time and friendship. observing these things throughout my childhood planted a seed that continued to grow as i got older and finally, during the beginning months of the pandemic, it all came to fruition. i realized that my dream of farming and growing for community didn’t have to stay a dream. life is short, so why not at least try? it was then that i started taking steps towards making my dream a reality - educating myself, expanding my home garden, and eventually, landing my first farming job at . now, i have the incredible opportunity to start this project of my own while working alongside Capital Greens for the 2022 season 🌱🌻

my journey is just beginning and i have so much to learn along the way. i am so excited for what’s to come this season and to bring this project to life. sometimes it all feels so surreal. but, more than anything, it brings me so much joy to know that i’m making that little kid in those photos real proud 💚

hi everyone! welcome to Goose Hill Farm & Flowers 🌻🌿

my name is Katharyn and i am the assistant farm manager at for the upcoming 2022 season. i’m so incredibly excited to be starting my own farm project and to share the creation of Goose Hill with all of you!!

this season i will be growing a variety of cut flowers, edible flowers and herbs, as well as diving back into the world of floristry that i’ve missed so much! stay tuned to learn more about my offerings for this season 🌞💐

none of this would be possible without the support of my mentor, dear friend, and fellow farmer 💚 thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime, truly.

i am beyond thrilled to embark on this journey and for another farming season to begin!!
