Say hello to Idee 👋.

🇨🇩 Idee was born and raised in Lubumbashi, Congo. He pursued his studies in agriculture at La Cité Collégiale in Ottawa, specializing in fruit and vegetable production.

🌟 He has been working at the Rogers Centre for 1 year and 3 months, and has expressed that it has been by far the best job he’s ever had. The people he’s met and the experience he’s gained has made it an incredible journey.

👞 Something people may not know about Idee is that in his free time he is both a fashion model and a designer

🤝 What has stood out to him the most is the way he was welcomed as a valued team member in all the departments he’s worked in—whether as a housekeeper, a receiver, or even as a helper for a short period. Those experiences have been the most meaningful to him.

Say hello to Carly 👋.

🇸🇦 Carly was born in Ottawa but spent a large portion of her adolescent years in Saudi Arabia. Her multicultural upbringing continues to influence her worldview, passion for connections and open-minded approach to life and leadership.

🏊‍♀️ Something people may not know about Carly is that swimming is her happy place! She is an avid swimmer with a background in competitive swimming, and now swims with a master’s program here in Ottawa. She still participates in the odd swim meet and competes in open water races during the summer months.

🌟 Carly just celebrated her 5-year work anniversary at the Rogers Centre Ottawa. She loves the collaborative and team-oriented environment where staff work together to create seamless and memorable experiences for guests. Whether you’re interested in hospitality, logistics, sales or event planning, she believes that working at a convention centre is a fantastic way to gain valuable experience and to build a rewarding career.

🌎 As strange as it might sound, Carly would say her career highlight has been emerging from the challenges of COVID and witnessing the profound longing people had to reconnect. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of the meetings and events industry in bringing people together.
