Meet Flora Scrim,
A founder of scrims florist , she blazed a trail in a once male dominated industry. She designed for many important “ ottawans”
And even received personal thanks via mail from McKenzie king himself while aboard the queen mary.
Without women like Flora , scrims wouldn’t be what it is today.
A business still run by yet another strong woman ( Susan Murray) who honours this years theme daily ( )
If there was ever a woman to lift another woman up it’s Susan.
The staff at scrims are blessed to work in such an incredible environment with such a strong and understanding woman at the helm who may or may not have been burning a bra or two in her day.
So , This women’s day let’s lift each other up.
Send flowers, write a letter or make dinner to show your gratitude for knowing a strong woman or being a strong woman.
And remember local trailblazers like Flora who created beauty and shared her craft with the likes of prime ministers.
