Also, just a quick note about our anonymous policy! 🚫 At Trillium, we prioritize the safety and security of all of our flower recipients. To protect everyone, we require a signature/name on the card for all orders. You may think that sending flowers anonymously is fun and cute, but oftentimes it creates worry and sometimes a call to the police! 😬 We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a positive shopping experience! 💕

With one of the biggest floral holidays around the corner I always like to send out a reminder (ESPECIALLY right now) to support your local florist when sending your special someone flowers!

See, there are these companies out there called order gatherers. They're an online-only "florist" (but really just a call center full of people who can't tell the difference between a🌹 and a 🌼) who take your order, take their cut of the sale then calls a local florist to fill the order (aka - us).

Why are they so terrible? SOOOOO many reasons but I'll try my best to sum up. Firstly, they take a chunk of your money for themselves so you're not getting the full value you're paying. Secondly, because you have chosen a specific arrangement off their site, they then expect that from the florist who likely cannot replicate it, therefore leaving you disappointed. Lastly, you're supporting a big company, not a local small business like ours 😢.

How will I know the difference between an OG (NOT Original Gansta 😝) and a true florist? OGs are likely to be the first 2 or 3 that come up in a Google search and you likely won't be able to find an actual address on them (ex: Bloomex, Callia). If you're leery about placing the order online then place the order over the phone. Personable service FTW!

Well I missed the 2 week reminder but did you know next Friday is Valentine's Day? 🌹

I apologize in advance for the spamming of reminder posts over the next little while (but not really!). I just realized I never shared the centerpiece I made for myself for Christmas! Filled with all of my favourite things! and ! Usually a florist gets what's left on Xmas Eve which is usually pinks and purples but this time I thought ahead 😆. I also was able to use this cool, black ceramic container I've been dying to use!

Phew, that's a wrap folks! From my chaotic family to yours, I wish everyone a super Merry Christmas!!

Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2024, from your orders to sweet messages on Instagram, it all means a lot! This year has been quite hectic and I've learned a lot about myself, my passions and the direction I want things to go. 2025 will see big things!

I also decided I need a few more days to cuddle with my adorable pups so we'll be back open on Tuesday, January 7th! See everyone in the New Year! ♥🥳

I hate to say it folks but 3 WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! 📣📣📣

Sorry but it's my job to tell you these things 🤣. This may also be the last social media post I make until end of the day on the 24th when I say sayonara (Sammy for those New Girl fans 😉) . But just know I'm here, back to regular hours, ready to welcome you in or talk to you over the phone to help you with your orders! Emails will be spotty so the other 2 forms of communication are preferred but I will do my best (and of course ordering online is SUPER helpful).

I cannot stress this ENOUGH but please and this holiday season. WE.ARE.DOING.IT! The doors to Trillium have been closed since August 1st but we can't keep you guys out on the most AWESOME day of the year! Is the shop fully ready in it's loveliness - no. Do I care - yes. But do I also realise that life is life and sometimes we have to show up imperfectly - yes! So although I can't do a full reveal of all I had hoped, I want to see your lovely faces and celebrate the best day of the year with you! And with that, of course we need some sales and a giveaway! Trillium Floral Designs opened its storefront in the Kanata North Business Park in 2000. Having been a home-based business for many years prior, owner Diane Boyd decided to expand her services to a full service flower shop catering to the Ottawa area. It has been a family affair, having had her two daughters work for her and husband doing all the handy work!
