The RCRC is a volunteer ran community centre. We host various fundraising events to help support thi In fact, the original was built in 1962.

The 'Centre' has been around for many years under various forms. It is apart of our community and many fun times have been spent here by many with the various occasions that happen at the centre.

Reserve now for best seats for Miss Pringle's Mini-Skirt! It is just over two weeks until the opening of Johanna Zomers' fantastic fable of the Swinging '60s with Miss Pringle's Mini-Skirt. You will love this show- The talented young actors and kids. The delightful mix of Beatles-style '60s music and Mac Beattie-style Valley music. Flashbacks to another era and another world. Songs you'll walk away humming. And you might even be inspired by its conclusion to do the the Twist, the Pony or the Mashed Potato! It's a stompin', rockin' good time you won't want to miss.

And this season, for the first time in years, you'll be able to choose your own seat thanks to our next box office partner, TicketsPlease of Almonte. Miss Pringle's Mini-Skirt opens July 24 at the Rankin Culture and Recreation Centre and runs through October 6, with 11 dessert theatre performances including three Sunday matinees in Fall, plus a special dinner gala with guest stars on Friday, October 4.

The cost of a dessert theatre show ticket is $42 & HST or $15 for youth. Desserts are provided by Schmidt’s Catering, with tea and fresh-roasted coffee from Madawaska Coffee.

The October 4 dinner show gala features a roast beef dinner by Schmidt’s Catering, with fresh-roasted coffee from Madawaska Coffee and performances by a dazzling array of guest stars. The cost is $89 & HST.

Learn to seed, transplant and produce fresh veggies at home. Everything you need, go home & grow!

Come join us at the Rankin Culture & Recreation Centre for a fun and informative event all about gardening at home. We’ve all felt the pinch at the grocery store checkout. It seems now more than ever that local nutritious food is out of reach for so many folks.
Families in Renfrew County are ready and eager to learn how to grow nutritious food at home. At CPAN, we want to help make that happen and to make it as easy as possible to get started no matter what kind of home you live in.

Each registration is for one family and we encourage kids to take the lead!

Any family who can donate a registration to a CPAN client family in need is super appreciated.

All proceeds go to help families in need in our local community.

Included for the price:
1 mature organic tomato plant locally grown and already planted in a 5 gallon pot for your home
1 mature organic basil seedling to transplant in the workshop to the tomato plant/pot included
2 soil-filled and ready-to-go 5 gallon pots for transplanting your seedlings in 2-3 weeks
Various seeds of your choice that are easy to start and able to produce this season
Learning content facilitated by a local grower and tip sheets to take home
Advice for sunlight, pest control, watering and other tips to help you on your way!

$40 a family, workshops on the hour, every hour from 11am-3pm on Saturday June 8, 2024.

RANKIN CENTRE YARD SALE FUNDRAISER
The Rankin Centre will be holding its annual yardsale on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 from 7:00am - 1pm. If you would like to donate items (must be clean and in working condition) we would be happy to accept them at the Centre on Wednesday, May 8th, Thursday, May 9th and Friday, May 10th from 9:00am to 3:00pm and
6:00pm - 8:00pm.
We are also looking for volunteers for the set up as well as the day ot the sale. If you can lend a hand we would appreciate it. For more infornation call Muriel at 613-735-0224. It you have plants or bulbs, we will take those as well.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who came out to support the Rankin Centre at our Winter Carnival A lot of people are waiting so patiently for the button winning numbers, so here they are!!! Congratulations to all the winners!!! 🥇1st Place - 1880 (backup 1476) 🥈2nd Place - 325 🥉3rd Place - 201 And our Carnival wouldn’t be possible without our amazing community members who are selling the buttons - thank you to everyone who sold and purchased buttons this year!!! Are you going to be skating on Carnival Weekend!!! Volunteers have been working hard getting the ice ready for you - hope to see you there!!!

This year at the Carnival, in addition to the always popular Children's Play Area and Craft Workshops, we will be having a VIRTUAL REALITY ROOM!!! Come and experience VR for yourself!!! Make sure to reserve your time slot at the registration table Saturday, February 11!!

The Rankin Centre will be hosting a Spaghetti Supper as part of our Winter Carnival. This meal will be catered by Schmidt’s catering on Thursday, February 9th from 5-9pm. It is $20/adult and $12/child aged 5-12 (children age 0-4 Free). Dine in or Take Out options available! February 11th is the big day - and it is kicking off with a FIRED UP EVENT thanks to our Rankin Firefighters Association! Our annual pancake breakfast has been provided by, and will be prepared and served to the community by, our local Fire Fighters! Breakfast is served on February 11th from 8-10AM - $9/adult $6/child (0-5 Free)! Make sure to have your button and stay all day because the fun will just be beginning!! Food will be served all weekend long, but these two meals are definitely ones you won't want to miss! Hope to see you there!!!

Our Monthly RCRC Meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. An error was printed in our February newsletter - the date of the next meeting is Wednesday, February 1, at 7:00 PM (not Feb 8 as printed). Do you think you have the knowledge to pick the winning team in our first ever Rankin Centre NHL Hockey Pool? Come on out tomorrow to put it to the test!!! Bring some friends and enjoy the friendly competition all NHL season long! Watch your points climb from home all season and see if you will be the team with the bragging rights at the end!!! $20.00 per entry, with all entry fees going towards the prize pool. Cash bar will be open at this live event - hope to see you there!!!
