Grateful. 🙏🏼

I’ll be honest, as a small business owner approaching almost a decade in business - most days I still have literally no idea what I’m doing - but I just put my head down and try my gosh darndest to cook the best food and give the best service I can. It’s hard to see the forest from the trees sometimes - turns out the forest is doing pretty okay.

Recently I was humbled to find out I’d been chosen by as a top three finalist in the service excellence category of their annual Business Excellence Awards -(shout out to my favourite grocery store - Belichs AG Food’s for taking it home!) and this week I was delighted to find out I won Best Food Truck in the annual Best Of The South Okanagan awards.

I finished my last event for the season this weekend and this seems like the perfect time to hang up my tongs for another season. From the bottom of my heart - thank you to this incredible community for supporting this little hot dog cart, sharing so many smiles, and making so many memories with me. To many more years to come of hot dogs and happiness!

If you’ve got an event in 2025 you want to make memorable don’t hesitate to get in touch. The food truck might be closed for the season, but the inbox is always open!

Well - what else can I say other than I’m absolutely tickled pink to find out The Wienery was chosen as one of the finalists for the “Service Excellence Award” in the 39th Annual Penticton Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards!

To even be nominated and recognized in this category amongst the incredible businesses that exist in the South Okanagan is a tremendous honour and a win all in itself.

Our mission from day one was - “The Best Hot Dog You’ve Ever Had, Made By The Nicest Folks You’ve Ever Met!” - it’s a maybe a bit corny, but it’s the guiding principle in everything I do.

This business has always been about building meaningful relationships with our customers, spreading joy, and making memories.

Thank you to all of our incredible customers and community for your ongoing support—you’re truly the heart of The Wienery. Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and as always, come by and grab a dog! 🌭✨

Congrats to all the other nominees and I’m looking forward to the award show in October to celebrate all of these amazing businesses and the people who run them!

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and we are slowly inching our way to tucking away the ole’ wiener shack for a long winters sleep.

We are still jam packed with special events and catering for the fall and Christmas season. What you’re looking at here will likely be our last, but definitely not least, three public events for the 2024 season.

First up, we’re absolutely fired up to be back again with our pals for their annual harvest festival. I’ve been doing this one every year since we started and it’s one of my favorite wineries and favorite events we do!

Next up is a long overdue collaboration with the fine folks nestled in the hills of West Kelowna - we can’t wait to work with the amazing team at this small batch winery dedicated to their farm and family. Also, Kelowna squad, we’re not here often, so get it while the getting good. Not to be missed.

And for what will likely be our our grand finale for the season, will be an absolute banger. The squad at the legendary is hosting their very first annual Oktoberfest and we will be there slanging brats and currywurst. More details to come on this little shin dig.

So here’s the thing…is there anything better than gourmet hot dogs and ice cold wine on a July afternoon? Well…yes actually. This Saturday, July 27, Campbell from will serve up the dogs, we will manage wine and The Rusty Nuts car club will be here with their beautiful collection of classic cars. Come on out, have some lunch, have a look at some gorgeous vehicles and chit chat with the guys and gals that pour so much love into their “garage babies”. Maybe, just maybe you can squeeze in a glass of wine! See you soon!

Summers Officially Here! ☀️ Beat the heat this weekend on a shady patio, with a cool glass of wine, a delicious dog, a few of your best pals, and let’s have a great time this weekend!

We’re reconnecting with a few of our long time favourite winery pop up partners at and at their beautiful properties in and connecting with a new one as well- the fine folks on the Naramata Bench have invited us to take part in food truck Fridays! They have a killer patio, wonderful staff, and amazing wine! Pop ups in Penticton / Naramata area are very limited this season so take advantage of this opportunity!

Reservations are highly recommended for all wine tastings - so please contact the wineries directly to reserve your spot! See y’all soon!

Earlier this week, I found myself scrambling to find help for the annual Rock N Roll Picnic when one of our long time team members was suddenly injured (Get better, Hannah!). My good pal and fellow competitor, Ian Stilborn, reached out, offering his extra hands to help me serve up dogs for the competition.

I write this post not only to congratulate Ian Stilborn (and the Ward's Wine Country Kitchen team) on defending his title as Top Dog and winning the coveted Golden We**ie with his ridiculously delicious “Elote Dog,” but also to say that nobody deserves the accolades and wins more than this guy.

Ian is dedicated to his craft, has paid his dues, helped me out in a pinch more times than I can count, is the most fun to cook with, and works harder than anyone I know. He's an amazing dad, partner, singer/songwriter, and the kind of person who offers to help his competition in the very contest he's aiming to win.

I’ll take second place to Ian any day of the week. Congratulations, my friend!

In the very same spirit, I’d like to give another huge shout out to Chef Nick Atkins and Jordan - the new super star team at The Restaurant at Fairview Mountain - and of course the amazing Kassandra Atkins who offered up her son to be sous chef for the evening, (you killed it Nixon!) and she even hopped on my station as well to help out. 🙏🏼

It takes a village, and I love this community!
