Donate to a wonderful cause this holiday season! 🎅🎄

Join us in spreading joy and minimizing hunger in our community this holiday season by donating to our virtual food drive for the Ottawa Food Bank!

iMedia Northside has been a proud supporter of the Ottawa Food Bank for many years. Due to COVID-19, this year we are taking our annual holiday food drive virtual and accepting monetary donations in lieu of physical items. Every $63 raised fills a fridge. We will be accepting donations until Friday, December 18.

What a crisp fall morning here at Cedar Bliss! Enclosed in split rail fences, the lower field will be a beautiful location for your outdoor events throughout the 2021 Spring/Summer event season. Plus, there is plenty of space to allow for social distancing! Note that appropriate health and safety measures will be in place at all events for the foreseeable future, and we will be operating at limited capacity.

One of our biggest pride and joys at Cedar Bliss are our organic vegetable and herb gardens. Tim was up bright and early last week planting the garlic for next year's harvest.

Did you know that garlic takes nearly a WHOLE YEAR to seed, grow and mature before it is ready to be harvested? We plant the cloves shortly before the snow hits and cover it with straw to prevent w**d growth and to help the roots develop. The biggest cloves produce the biggest bulbs. Then the long wait begins!

As the last of the autumn leaves fall from the trees, we're working hard to prep Cedar Bliss for the winter months. But our crab apples are still hanging in there; in fact, they only get sweeter as the weather gets frostier! Crab apples taste wonderful in jams & jellies, bread pudding, pies, and especially in Cathy's homemade apple zucchini chutney!

Although COVID-19 has forced us to put our planned events on hold, Cathy and Tim have been busy using this time to make sure Cedar Bliss is in tip top shape for next year. That said, we are thrilled to announce that we are now tentatively booking events for Spring/Summer 2021!

We have been working hard to renovate our cozy guest house for next year's event season, adding all the finishing touches that will make your stay a truly special one. We know you'll love what we've done with the place! The Stagger Inn will be available for rent during the 2021 season, as well.

One of our favourite elements of Cedar Bliss is the newly restored hip roof barn, a perfect location for hosting indoor events.

Back in 1860, when it was built, the barn was an integral part of the working farm. The old granary still stands in the front of the barn today adding an unforgettable touch of rural elegance to your event.

When we began renovating in 2019, we could never have guessed the amazing stories this old building would tell. We found many treasures along the way - which have all been incorporated into the new design. The original floors, once trod by horse and wagon, are now located in the service area and band stand. The original barn doors have been repurposed into wall board and serving tables, located in the main room. The new doors, locally crafted, open to a beautiful, original hemlock post and beam structure and the new walls are created from pine milled right here on the property. In the reconstruction we used as much of the original structure as possible and added locally sourced materials. Tim, along with a talented group of local craftsmen, made this dream a reality.

If you're looking to host an indoor event with 80-100 guests (depending on seating options) or less, this location may be exactly what you've been looking for! Send us a message or visit our website and we'd be happy to get the ball rolling.

The original workshop next to the barn has been transformed into a quaint little guest house. In the fall, it serves as a hunt camp. This multipurpose building provides guests with a place to dress, change, freshen up, relax or even spend the night!

With a loft that sleeps two, two additional beds downstairs, a restroom (with a shower) and kitchenette, the Stagger Inn may be just what you're looking for!

We are happy to rent it at $200 per night.

Our property is a mix of forest – or bush, as it's known here in the Lanark Highlands – and tranquil meadows.

Just through the first fence lies a special meadow that offers a spectacular view of the sunset. This space is great for outdoor events and provides the perfect location for absolutely breathtaking photos.

Our 200 acre forest includes a sugar bush, a vast hardwood forest and many other special places. If you're lucky, you may even encounter the abundance of local wildlife that roam the property!

If your party is interested in exploring this ancient canopy, or if you would like to take photos in a specific location, we at Cedar Bliss would be happy to give you the grand tour!

At Cedar Bliss, the entire property is enclosed in what we lovingly refer to as Lanark Highlands Split Rail Fencing.

Ours have been beautifully restored and maintained by local craftsman Ken Lalonde. These unique fixtures provide a once in a lifetime backdrop for your event photos!

As you enter the property, the breathtaking 100-year-old grove of cedars lining the winding lane will guide you to your destination. They may look like the talking trees from Greek Mythology or the Lord of the Rings, but we promise that these guys are extremely friendly!

Take your time on this short journey; don't be hasty! These old guys just might talk to you.
