When we know better, we do BETTER! xo 💚🔥
Wedding friendors, inclusivity is SO SO important! We need to stay informed and educated on so much in our industry so today I'm giving you some things to think about in the off-season when you working behind the scenes in your business✍️💻👩🏫
1) Take a look at your canned email responses, social media platform profiles, website copy, pricing guide and other marketing materials/documents and remove all gender-specific wording from these places
Replace "bride" and "groom" with Fiance and/or Partner
Using the term Couple or Partners is crucial too, there's never just ONE person getting married, a marriage involves TWO people
Replace "bridal party" with Wedding Party
2) On your social media profiles, edit them to make it abundantly clear to couples looking at your work that you are accepting of ALL love. Our LGBTQ* couples need a safe and secure assurance that vendors are inclusive and supporting marriages of all orientations and genders. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍 I would also include your pronouns in your profile so they know how to address you in their inquiry.
3) Website Inquiry Forms: revise them to include areas for couples to input the following fields:
Names of Partner 1 & Partner 2
Pronouns
I think those three tips will keep you busy 🤗 I have more coming soon!✨
