The jury must be unanimous… On TUESDAY our Cinesummer suite moves to NYC with the iconic 12 Angry Men (1957), by Dir. Sidney Lumet.

Following a days long evidence review, a jury of twelve men convenes to vote on the fate of a young man accused of killing his father, and subject to the death penalty. The jury needs to reach a unanimous conclusion, and after one lone juror votes not-guilty, the men get increasingly heated trying to reach their verdict while under the hottest day of the year for NYC.

Once again, we’re at our summer holiday home, The Theatre on King, for this screening! You’ll find the entrance to the theatre up the alleyway and round the back towards the parking lot.

Bueller..? Bueller…? This TUESDAY we’re continuing our Cinesummer with the 1986 classic, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off by Dir. John Hughes.

Smooth-talking high school senior Ferris Bueller talks his best friend Cameron, and girlfriend Sloane, into joining him in skipping school for the day. While the trio enjoy the sights of Chicago, Dean of Students Ed Rooney is convinced that Ferris is, not for the first time, playing hooky for the day and is hell-bent to catch him out. Unfortunately for Rooney, it’s all part of Ferris’s plan.

This will be our FIRST screening at The Theatre on King in downtown Peterborough. Within the same format as our screenings at Sadleir House, we’ll start our preshow at 7pm complete with free snacks!

When joining us at TTOK, don’t forget to head through the back alley driveway into the parking lot.

Our Story

The Theatre on King is an intimate black box theatre located in downtown Peterborough, just off of George Street, seating between 40 - 70 people. Offering the community a dynamic space for theatre and dance performances, rehearsals, workshops, readings, classes, and more, TTOK is a laboratory where both professional and amateur artists can explore, learn and hone their skills, and gain encouragement and inspiration. It is a space where artists can afford to fail.

TTOK opened in January of 2013 and is now in its 6th year of operations. Recently moved to 171 King Street, TTOK is grassroots theatre created by and for a real and living community, where the space between artist and audience is reciprocal and lively. Supporting the arts means supporting your community. The Theatre on King has also joined forces with Theatre Trent as a step towards incorporating more of the downtown into the student experience. Any Trent students or alumni interested in booking the space are encouraged to get in touch with Theatre Trent ([email protected]) or The Theatre on King ([email protected]).
