Our Story

The Theatre on King is an intimate black box theatre located in downtown Peterborough, just off of George Street, seating between 40 - 70 people. Offering the community a dynamic space for theatre and dance performances, rehearsals, workshops, readings, classes, and more, TTOK is a laboratory where both professional and amateur artists can explore, learn and hone their skills, and gain encouragement and inspiration. It is a space where artists can afford to fail.

TTOK opened in January of 2013 and is now in its 6th year of operations. Recently moved to 171 King Street, TTOK is grassroots theatre created by and for a real and living community, where the space between artist and audience is reciprocal and lively. Supporting the arts means supporting your community. The Theatre on King has also joined forces with Theatre Trent as a step towards incorporating more of the downtown into the student experience. Any Trent students or alumni interested in booking the space are encouraged to get in touch with Theatre Trent ([email protected]) or The Theatre on King ([email protected]).
