The Theatre on King (TTOK) is Nogojiwanong/Peterborough’s hub for new and risk-taking performance creation, and a centre for diverse arts events. Deeply committed to the creation and presentation of the arts, TTOK nurtures artistic exploration and expression by providing a supportive and accessible space for diverse, independent artists to innovate, create, and connect.

As we look ahead to the next exciting stage of TTOK’s journey, we’re seeking one or two passionate and engaged individuals to join our Advisory Board.

Advisory Board members play an important role in offering insight, ideas, and community connections to help support TTOK’s mission. We welcome interest from folks with backgrounds in the arts, community leadership, fundraising, marketing, education, accessibility, and beyond—though no specific experience is required. A love for live performance is what matters most.

This is a flexible commitment involving occasional meetings throughout the year.

To apply, please send a brief letter of interest (including any relevant experience) to: contactttokca
by August 17, 2025.

We’d love to hear from you—and we invite you to be part of shaping TTOK’s future.

Our Story

The Theatre on King is an intimate black box theatre located in downtown Peterborough, just off of George Street, seating between 40 - 70 people. Offering the community a dynamic space for theatre and dance performances, rehearsals, workshops, readings, classes, and more, TTOK is a laboratory where both professional and amateur artists can explore, learn and hone their skills, and gain encouragement and inspiration. It is a space where artists can afford to fail.

TTOK opened in January of 2013 and is now in its 6th year of operations. Recently moved to 171 King Street, TTOK is grassroots theatre created by and for a real and living community, where the space between artist and audience is reciprocal and lively. Supporting the arts means supporting your community. The Theatre on King has also joined forces with Theatre Trent as a step towards incorporating more of the downtown into the student experience. Any Trent students or alumni interested in booking the space are encouraged to get in touch with Theatre Trent ([email protected]) or The Theatre on King ([email protected]).
