Today I received a wonderful surprise all the way from Ukraine from a wonderfully inspiring gardener who is not only a talented writer and photographer but specializes in rare Clematis seed collecting. Alla supports her family by selling these rare seeds she collects from her garden. Floret ( www.floretflowers.com) produced an inspiring documentary “Gardening in a War Zone” available on the site as well as an interview. Also some wonderful news the interview and story appeared in the New York Times. Thank you for sharing Alla’s story and for the wonderful seeds which will have a special place in my garden! Now to start designing !!!

Lisianthus 2nd round germinated 💕 and growing strong 🌸 these babies should be ready by July. Lisianthus take approx 150 days to produce flowers …. But worth the effort and time!

I love misty, overcast days in the garden, especially in the fall. I practically enjoy the garden when the structure of the plants, instead of the colour, is the focus. Plants going into dormancy, revealing texture, no longer seducing the eye with colour. When I design gardens I always spend time making sure there is seasonal interest because plants and the landscape, as in nature, should be enjoyed all year long.
