The obsession with bullet journaling continues. 📖🖌
I recently picked up a stupid amount of stickers & washi tape from (like I bought two new containers to store them amount) and decide to make a spread. For no other reason than to play around with texture, composition and find a purpose for my new tools.
There is something really relaxing about collaging. Finding pieces that fit. Not really knowing what you’ll end up with but just going with the flow. It’s really nice. And I’m hoping to do more of it.
This isn’t really part of my monthly planning but I wanted to leave some spaces in between weeks to just make things, so my bujo isn’t just some cold soulless, data tracking, to do list. I’ll save all that for my normal life 😅🤖✌🏽

Day 2: B
B’s used to be super hard for me to write. The proportions of the counters confused me and I only really got the hang of them after a lot of practise and studying of the letter form. Now when I write I have those images I studied in my head so that I know what my desired outcome is... if that makes any sense? Haha. 🤷🏽‍♀️

A new practise has taken hold. Journaling, tracking, drawing, and organizing, the few things that make me happy.
If you’re anything like me, a new practise becomes an obsession quick. I find myself scoring the internet for references and reading everything I can get my hands on to better understand methodologies. I spend countless hours trying to gain more experience and try different things and in the end if I enjoy it and I see benefits, I keep it. That’s how I got into calligraphy and I see it happening for journaling.
If you have any resources or recommendations on bullet journaling and everything around it please send them over! Would love to know what you keep track of, how you it’s helped you and of course to see your beautiful layout. 😊

Hey friends, I’m running an intro to brush lettering workshop next Sunday at the Port Moody Art Centre. There are still a few open spots so come join me, while I babble on about basic strokes, the best brush pens to use and of course how to use them to impress all your friends and family 😉. This is will be my last class until maybe fall, so don’t miss out if you’ve wanted to learn for awhile. You can register with the link in my bio, in person, or online via pomoarts.ca

Happy Monday everyone! This weekend was lovely because I got to spend it hanging out with my calligra-friends. Annnnnd I picked up all my supplies for my two workshops coming up. It was a full calligraphy weekend. 😆
If you haven’t already registered just want to let you know that there’s still space in my Intro to Calligraphy class coming in Feb. The first part of the class we’ll be learning about the tools you’ll be using and how to get the most out of them. Best thing is you’ll get to take it all home with you afterwards. 🙌🏽
I’ve also made updates to my workbook which I’m excited to share. New improve!
If you’re interested in registering you can go to the link in profile, by phone , or if you’re in the area just stroll in and do it in person... analog style. My personal fav. Haha.

2: Introduction to Brush Lettering
Date: Sun, Mar 24th
Time: 10am - 4pm
This is a new class! I’ll be going through a bunch of different ways to brush letter and of course you’ll get supplies and a workbook to take home with you. Can’t wait to teach this.

Both classes are only $85 each and I think that’s a pretty sweet deal. You can register now (links above and in bio) and spaces are limited, I’m only taking 12 students, so it’ll be pretty intimate 😉. More details to come! Stay Tuned.

Slow Sundays mean deep work. Time to focus, sketch, and explore.
My inner critic would have stopped at the first sketch and been happy with that. I’m usually too scared to add too much to a piece, afraid that if I do, I’ll ruin it. But I’m trying to learn to let expectations go and try things even if I don’t know what the outcome will be. I think it turned out ok. 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️

Probably the best lesson I’ve learned so far in life. And lately these words have been repeating in my mind a lot.
When you’re young (I’m still young I hope 😅) you want everything and you have these expectations of what you want your life to be. As you get older reality starts to seep in and you realize that people and life can disappoint you. When this started happening to me I thought about why I was unhappy or upset and I realized it had a lot to do with the level of expectations I had for others or a situation. I’m not writing this to depress anyone (I swear this is a positive thing), but I do feel like the main reason people become unhappy with their lives is that they allow their expectations of people, work and life to control them. And in doing that you place your happiness in someone else’s hands. I found out pretty quickly that if I have low or no expectations of people or situations that I control how things effect me.
I continue to maintain high expectations of myself, because you should always expect the best from yourself. But for others, I try to give the benefit of a doubt. Everyone is human. Everyone is dealing with things. I can only expect as much as I give and try to give as much as I can, with no expectation of anything in return. And that makes me happy. 🙂 That’s all I have to say about that. Haha. Thanks for reading.
