I spent the afternoon with this wonderful family helping them create a painting from a photo of their favourite family location - Stuart Lake in northern BC. Course Outline

Through step-by-step explanations, demonstrations, and one-on-one coaching from Jenny Hughes your painting skills will improve rapidly in this 4 week course. All supplies included.

Week 1 – Learn the basics of acrylic paint, how to load, move & hold a brush to create control and proper technique. We will also go over the different types of brushes and what they offer.

Weeks 2 – BLENDING! BLENDING! BLENDING! There are so many ways to blend depending on what you are trying to achieve. We will work on different methods and use blending mediums to manipulate the paint and slow down the drying time.

Week 3 – A crucial part in a successful painting is identifying how to create the proper composition and values. We will go over composition rules and how the eye looks for values in a painting.

Week 4 – Learn the basics of perspective and how to train your eye in creating balance and depth in a painting.
