Cantaloupe I think would best describe this colour, for me it is one of the most consistent peach colours in my garden, often heat and day length can make flowers appear different colour throughout the season but this beaut stays pretty consistent, it will be available in my sale Feb 11th. 📸Crichton Honey

Meet Eveline, she has been in my collection for years but only last summer she finally gained popularity and I now I’m planning to ramp up production of her for this summer so I can meet the demand for this lavender kissed beauty.💜

Today’s dahlia is a Canadian gem, one of many gorgeous cultivars that comes out of BC’s Ferncliff Gardens, Ferncliff Rusty. Its muddled raspberry colour is one of my favourite colours to see in the garden and will be available on my website Feb 11th.

I always find it hard when it comes to peaches and corals they colour shift so much depending on temperature and day length especially in my zone 2/3 region. My garden is done for the season, the blooms have froze, and we are busy digging tubers and collecting seed. We are so thankful for what this year brought both personally and professionally, we hope you are all able to take time this weekend to do something for yourself,

My growing season is a wrap but I have a back log of dahlia content to keep you entertained all winter 😉
Most of the dahlias showcased will be in next spring’s sale. This little darling is Valley Porcupine I know it’s made a spot on the grid before but it’s seriously one of a kind with its little pokes.

This gorgeous beauty is striking with the fall backdrop and as I look at it while it sits next to my computer it actually is shimmering gold. Now I’m not going to lie, it makes terrible tubers, they are long and skinny and do not store well but if you see this gem in my shop next spring be sure to add it to card as it’ll be in limited quantity.

It’s funny how from year to year things change, this dahlia was on the chopping block from my garden, this was going to be the last year I grew her and then… she showed up! She’s always bloomed but I was always underwhelmed, then this year she’s been blowing me away. So I guess she gets to stay for another year.

Happy New Year! I have been a little MIA on here but holidays are over and I am back in the office full swing! Tubers are looking amazing in their 1st full winter in our new cooler and is it ever a dream🥰 I have a couple things coming up one being our DAHLIA TUBER SALE the date will be Tuesday Feb 11th at 7pm CST, the website has not been updated but I will be working on it over the next week or so. I will also be holding a spring bulb sale in April again with some lilies and gladiola so watch for that as well.

If you are new to dahlia buying you may have noticed that dahlia sales can be cut throat, by the time you get to the check out over half your cart is empty. If you are a dahlia buying veteran you probably have 3 timers set in your phone, your info preloaded on to the sellers website and a list of must haves and what page they’re on…possibly even willing to make numerous purchases and pay multiple shipping fees just to get the “holy grails” of dahlia varieties. I am still regularly scouting sales and trying my darndest (I know that’s not a word) to procure those hard-to-gets so I can grow and multiply them so I can offer you more in seasons to come. I look forward to seeing what’s popular this year, last year I was totally caught off guard by which was most popular.
