The original was made at the Advanced floral workshop I attended in March and this style has been a great option for those wanting to gift flowers of encouragement. Floral art created for Central Alberta Theatre’s season preview called CATena. This arrangement was a door prize where I used floral elements to represent the various shows this year: dark and crimson for Dracula:Mina’s Quest, orange roses, snow berries and sage for Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley, the asymmetrical shape, spikey eryngium and scent of eucalyptus for the the “suspenseful and mind-blowing puzzle” of Any Night, and the fun sunflower and bright yellow alstroemeria in thought to the uplifting comedy titled POUF! Favourite make of the day…Forest Flair 6.0. As with all my arrangements, each one is a little bit different depending which flowers are in the cooler at the time. The style and shape tend to be the same, but still some variation, just as in nature! This is definitely a client favourite.

Favourite make of the day…two custom arrangements for a Fortis Alberta event; incorporating the company colours as well as a tribute to their indigenous partners. I especially love the bark bucket and floral carved wooden box I was able to find/use to hold the flowers! Perfect compliments to these very special pieces.

Our Story

la petite Jaune Fleur started out as my dream in a second career. As a safety specialist for many years, I finally made the decision to follow my passion and train as a floral designer and open my own flower store. I have been a local shop in Red Deer for over 16 years and believe my love for flowers and design have served me well. My husband actually came up with the name la petite Jaune Fleur because yellow is my favorite color and I wanted a shop that had a European flavour. The name stuck and I followed with a vespa which I ride all over the city with my two little dogs Jadzia and Fergie.

I am blessed to be able to create flowers that speak to peoples heart in good times and in bad. I have a small but mighty team and we try to convey that personal emotion for every occasion. The awards we have won both locally and internationally always remind me of whom we serve and why.

My instructor once told me that in order to break the rules and create outside of the box, I had to learn the rules and understand not only how to arrange flowers but how to care for them and understand their needs. Now that I own my own shop, I love to break the rules and if it can be made, I will create it!
