Natural citrine and citrine generally refer to the same gemstone, but there is a distinction between natural and heat-treated citrine.

Natural Citrine:
Natural citrine is a variety of quartz that obtains its yellow to brownish color through natural processes. This coloration is often caused by the presence of trace amounts of iron in the crystal.
Natural citrine is relatively rare, and its color can vary from pale yellow to a deep amber or brownish hue.
Some natural citrine may have a slightly cloudy or smoky appearance, which is a characteristic of certain quartz formations.

Heat-Treated Citrine:
Heat-treated citrine is created by heat-treating amethyst or smoky quartz. Amethyst, when subjected to high temperatures, can turn into citrine, and the resulting color is often a vibrant yellow or orange.
The heat treatment is commonly used in the gemstone industry to produce citrine with a more uniform and appealing color. Many of the citrine gemstones available in the market have undergone this treatment.
Heat-treated citrine may have a more consistent color compared to natural citrine.

It's essential to note that both natural and heat-treated citrine are considered genuine forms of the gemstone. When purchasing citrine, it's advisable to check with the seller for information on whether the stone is natural or has undergone any treatments.

Making an ankle bracelet (anklet) can be a fun and creative DIY project. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make a basic beaded anklet:

Materials Needed
Beads: Choose beads of your preference. You can use glass, plastic, wooden, or metal beads.
Beading wire or elastic cord: Depending on whether you want a stretchy or a non-stretchy anklet.
Crimp beads (if using beading wire).
Clasp and jump rings (if using beading wire).
Scissors or wire cutters.
Needle-nose pliers (if using beading wire).

Instructions
Using Elastic Cord (Stretchy Anklet)
Measure the Length: Measure around your ankle to determine the length of the cord. Add an extra inch for tying knots.
Cut the Cord: Cut the elastic cord to the desired length.
String the Beads: Begin stringing your beads onto the elastic cord. You can create a pattern or string them randomly.
Tie the Knot: Once all the beads are strung, tie a secure knot at the end. You can tie a double or triple knot for added security.
Hide the Knot: If possible, hide the knot inside one of the beads to give a cleaner finish.
Trim the Excess: Cut off any excess cord.
Using Beading Wire (Non-Stretchy Anklet)
Measure the Length: Measure around your ankle to determine the length of the wire. Add an extra inch for attaching the clasp.
Cut the Wire: Cut the beading wire to the desired length.
Attach the Clasp: Thread a crimp bead onto one end of the wire, then add one part of the clasp. Loop the wire back through the crimp bead and use pliers to crimp it securely.
String the Beads: Begin stringing your beads onto the wire.
Finish the End: Once all the beads are strung, add another crimp bead and the other part of the clasp. Loop the wire back through the crimp bead and a few beads before crimping it securely.
Trim the Excess: Cut off any excess wire.

Tips
Choose Your Beads: Consider using a combination of different sizes, shapes, and colors of beads to create an interesting design.
Spacer Beads: Use smaller spacer beads to add variety and texture to your anklet.
Charms: Add small charms to your anklet for a personalized touch.
Secure Knots: Ensure all knots are tied securely to prevent the anklet from breaking.
Use Crimp Covers: If using crimp beads, you can add crimp covers to hide the crimp beads and give a polished look.

With these steps, you can create a beautiful and custom ankle bracelet that suits your style!

Chrysocolla forms when copper minerals oxidize and react with water and silica, precipitating into beautiful blue-green deposits.

Found in copper-rich regions such as Chile, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Israel, and the southwestern United States, chrysocolla often accompanies other secondary copper minerals, creating striking mineralogical associations.

It’s Good To Love What You Do!

Owners Chris and Melissa Robak spend their days surrounded by rocks and minerals.

They hang out with Amethyst, Agate, and Angelite and sort through Sapphires and Starolite for just the right pieces to prepare for their upcoming events. It’s a challenge and a joy, especially when you are a s passionate as these two!

When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life... Not exactly true, but doing what you enjoy is still better than the alternative!

When you join us at an event, we sincerely hope you can see the love that our owners, staff, and miners put into their jobs each and every day.
