Kimchi Canada Festival

This is the email we received from Sasktel Center yesterday. We do not know how Ticketmaster processes their refunds. We have had contact with a few guests who have received their refund in the last few days.

It was not disclosed to us as to when Ticketmaster started their refund process which takes up to 30 days. However it is apparent that it was not during our public announcement in June…. That being said as the email indicates everyone should be receiving their refunds in the next few days.

To cancel was our last resort. We understand that some individuals would be angry at this.
We are very sorry.

However, in the last few weeks through our research and research from Korea, there have been points of high-risk, especially for air quality!
For the safety of the singers and their voices which is vital to their careers it was agreed upon to cancel the event!
There was and continues to be no way of knowing how the smoke and fires would continue to affect Canada and the Saskatoon area. Our priority was for the artists and their safety.

Regarding Ticketmaster prior to the cancelation for refunded tickets it only took a few days. Thus we assumed it would be the same as we canceled the event. However once we received notification we posted it. We have already talked to Sasktel Center the same day we publicly announced the cancelation of our event.

It was not an easy decision for our team as we have worked tirelessly to bring something new to Saskatchewan.

The last few days have been difficult. We have had many meetings with our production team and the idol agencies about the matter of the festival and the safety of the public and idols.

Canada is currently experiencing numerous natural disasters, reportedly the worst in the last 100 years.

Koreans feels empathy to all people around the world since they’ve experienced many disasters and wars, and understand the seriousness and stress it causes not just the country but to the people.

As this festival was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of unity between Canada and South Korea, and the problems that are currently happening in Canada it is not the proper time to host the festival.

We are sad to report, that the decision is to cancel the event at this time.

Again this was a difficult decision to make.
From our team, the agencies and idols we wish to express a huge thank you for all of your support and ask for your understanding.

We have already informed Ticketmaster to return all tickets that have been sold as soon as possible. Once the refund has been issued their processing will take 5-7 days.
