2026 schedule is dropping today! Just sharing this again in advance of this, for new followers who sometimes think that QCC is a whole multi person organization! Excited for another year of fostering connection 💜
QCC and interest in events has steadily grown since the inception in spring 2022. What many people don’t know though, is Queen City Connect is ran by just one person (me!). I have two ladies in each city who help me with events that have more than 20 people signed up, so that sign in flows smoothly, but other than that, I’m a one woman show. QCC is my side gig and I juggle a full time career on top of the events.
I moved to Regina in 2021 and was born and raised in Saskatoon. I wanted to bring something new to Regina and eventually expanded to Saskatoon. Events in Saskatoon mean a visit home for me and I’m so grateful there’s been an interest in events in both cities.
Lately, I often get comments expressing dissatisfaction with the frequency of events, that events aren’t offered in other cities, or that events are focused outside of Regina at all due to the business name. QCC is an extension of me and so events have to work around my schedule. Being a sole proprietor means planning, running and marketing all events. It means overseeing the email and social media accounts, shopping for supplies, and making sure people know every event is planned with detail to ensure people enjoy themselves. Reviewing match cards and sending out matches is the best part but also very time consuming.
I wanted to share this in advance of the 2025 schedule dropping in November, so that people understand why there’s a couple months a year with no events and why there’s only 2-3 events per month. I would love to offer everything that’s suggested, but there’s only so much time and energy in each day. Limits are a necessity to prevent burn out, so that I can keep bringing events to everyone! I love offering events and am always so appreciative that a random idea has turned into a fun and successful side gig. Thank you for buying tickets, sharing event announcements, and supporting connection. And most of all, thank you for understanding that I do the best I can to offer variety and as many events as my time allows 💚
