The leaves held on just long enough for some vibrant fall vibes. It was my first venture to Gravelbour - what a stunning part of the province.

My shoot this evening took me pretty remote - deep into the Oxbow Valley where I could basically reach out and touch North Dakota.

I had two firsts.

It was bound to happen, I hit my first deer. It was a good sized buck, he bounces well, I think he'll make it.

The second was borderline spiritual - on a remote stretch of highway south of Carlyle the sky began to dance, greens and reds dripped and fluttered. I stopped to try and get some photos but it had to be quick coyotes were calling from all around me.

Seriously how we’ll do these two fit together?

It may sound odd but the most important job of a wedding photographer isn't the photography. In a short amount of time just about anyone can learn the exposure triangle and rules of composition. On the wedding day the photographer keeps the energy right, finds a groove with the wedding party and uses prompts to get the right reactions. It’s about anticipating a moment and being ready in a flash or taking a breath and creating a moment for the couple by putting the camera away. We not only want you to look your best on your wedding day- but feel your best too.

One of my favourite parts of the wedding day is seeing the kids rock out. They go hard.

Not every path is straight. But these two finally found their way to each other.

For all those out working hard in the fields or working hard to keep the work going - get it in the bin. Is there a proper salutation for “happy harvest “?

It’s no surprise the wedding industry is a referral business. Do a good job at a wedding and there is likely a bridesmaid, groomsmen or guest there planning their next year's date.
So I often get invited back to communities multiple seasons in a row. I love it because I get to see the start of new beautiful families.
Little ones that were just a twinkle in their parent's eyes on the wedding day.
I’ve got my own two kiddos and I’m shocked at how much my dude is looking like his old man.
How about you, did you create a “mini me” too?

On a wedding day it sometimes gets weird. I’m hiding in bushes, waving grass in front of my lens, flat on my belly- often couples don’t know what I’m up to. I try to make sure to share some footage throughout the day to keep you in the loop.

Some weddings hit the mark of being sentimental, unique, romantic, traditional, and ridiculously hilarious all at the same time. This was one of them.

So there was this guy Jamie he's from a small Norther Scottish town, got a little bored with life and at 26 decided to find a little adventure. After a pretty epic journey, he found himself in Edmonton working a fun job with lots of outdoor time when about a year in his company merged with another, and many of his coworkers, including himself, lost their jobs.

Jamie stuck around Edmonton and bounced around BC for a few more years until he decided to head east and settle down just outside of Winnipeg.

Not long after a young local gal caught his eye and Jamie got hitched at 37.
These two hit it off popping out their first kid soon after.

Life was pretty good for Jamie and Mary. Surprisingly they had 9 more kids. His last one at 59. Dirty old dog.

However a few decades later one of their neighbors decided to pick a fight with the Feds. It got pretty ugly.

Mary had become pretty tight with some families in the hood, so they sent their son Pete and the neighbor's kid Charlie off to see if there was somewhere more chill to spend her golden years.

They found a quaint little spot just outside of North Battleford.

Unfortunately, Jamie didn't make it to see the new digs - he passed on his 50th wedding anniversary.

Three families pooled their resources and made the move, The Bremner's, Sayer's and my guys the Taylor's. BRESAYLOR was born.

This is the story of my Great-Great-Great grandfather James Taylor born in 1791. His journey from Scotland and his ties with Louis Riel and the Red River Rebellion.

The photo below is of my Great-Great Grandfather shop in Bresaylor.

I don't feel like an old dad any longer.
