Saturday proved to be a bit of a whirlwind, but we all had a wonderful time! We met some adorable puppies (some even came in matching pyjamas!) and we also got to meet these four adorable and *ADOPTABLE* puppers! Sunday from noon-4 at 599 Henderson Drive, we will have Santa photos with pets (and maybe humans too) and CC Res Q will have some dogs who are available for adoption too! Omg you guys, it’s happening!!! We’re having Santa Paws photos at my studio on December 1st! With special guest *SANTAAAA* (I know him!!!)

That’s right, Sunday Dec 1st from noon-4 at 599 Henderson Drive (my studio). A $40 donation gets you in for a session with the big guy and a digital file you can print or share online. First come first serve, and all pets are welcome (well, we might have to see what Santana thoughts are on spiders!)!

Ok. Anyone who will be having photos done, or is even just thinking of having photos done, whether with myself, or any other photographer: if you are the sort of person who is going to start off telling the photographer “I hate having photos taken”, I need you to do me a favour. Please watch this video. The PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) brought Teri Hoffard in for a workshop a few years ago. She is a an expert in body positivity, and did a TedTalk awhile back on why you hate yourself in photos.

Obviously, not EVERYONE does, but I would say about 95% of my clients seem, at the very least, uncomfortable seeing photos of themselves. And the most soul crushing thing is that Moms are the worst for it. The number of times, in an ordering session for family portraits where the mother will say “well, I love how everyone else looks, but I look horrible.”

I was telling a friend today that I’ve been feeling a little more myself these days. More upbeat and relaxed. It’s the first stretch since Mom died that I’ve felt this way. I have to admit, my trip to Europe might have helped. Different scene and experiences… but I was setting up for a shoot in studio yesterday and actually didn’t mind the results.

Another sneak peek from another session the other night! A family portrait with Monique and Ryan, Scandal and Jasper. I photographed Monique, Scandal and Jasper back in 2017 for my Canada 150 project and even got “Happy Paws” from Scandal again! The puppies seem to know that I love them 🥰 and I am always happy to capture families and their furry babies ❤️

Bye-eeeee! That’s right! Im putting the camera down (literally… I’m not even bringing it with me which is giving me some very awkward feels…) and I’m leaving on a jet plane! And while I THINK I’ll be back again on the 26th, we’ll see if Air Canada and its pilots have other ideas with the strike looming! Either way, have a fabulous two weeks everyone!

You guys! I am so excited as I’ve started to receive some product for one of my clients - this album with its gorgeous display box and a metal print in a metal brushed float mount! They’re to die for!!! Don’t tell my client though, I want it to be a surprise! 😉😍
