The Richmond Hill Legion kicked off 2025 with a New Year's Eve Dance to a full house of fun and lots of great dancing. It was wonderful having so many people filling our Main Hall to welcome in the New Year. We want to thank all those who attended and all the volunteer members of our event team who worked very hard in making the hall look very festive, assembling the beautiful centre pieces, arranging prizes and preparing and serving the late night hot table. It was fabulous!
If you are looking for space for your next special event, contact our Event Coordinator Lori at [email protected]
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year from the Richmond Hill Legion.

Our 3rd VP, comrade Bernie dePaulsen represented Branch 375, joining many other members of Zone E2 at the Sunnybrook Vet’s Centre, on Sunday, December 22nd. They were there to deliver the Christmas stockings to our deserving veterans.

Comrade Bernie made a point of sharing a big thank you to comrade Mike Burton and everyone else who contributed to this initiative. Together we can continue to honour and support our veterans, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. Merry Christmas and a heartfelt salute to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Comrade Bernie also added that this time of year reminds him of the importance of gratitude, kindness and connection. Seeing the smiles on the veteran’s faces was a heartwarming reminder of how small gestures can make such a big difference.

We Will Remember.

Yesterday, members of York Regional Police alongside Legion volunteers organized a trip to Sunnybrook to visit with our beloved veterans and to deliver Christmas gifts. What an amazing and memborable visit it was with lots of one-on-one conversation and story telling. Below is one of our dedicated and hard working Legion members and volunteers Sharon having a very interesting conversation with Jim, who served as a gunner on RCAF aircraft during WWll. Incredible! (More pictures will be added to this story shortly)

The members of the Branch decided it was time for a serious donation to the Richmond Hill Foodbank with Christmas coming, and knowing that a cash donation usually goes towards needed fresh foods and produce. Lots of volunteers all busy as 'elves' today, at the Richmond Hill Community Foodbank site on Newkirk when comrade Ross dropped by to donate a $2K cheque. The shelves in the background show that there is room for more stock, so please take the time to donate. The funds from our donation are earned through our partnership with Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill and goes a long way to help local people in need. Especially important at this time of year ……
