It's been a long time since we stopped at Petro Can on our #evroadtrip to actually get gas but we did that today. Standing outside on a gorgeous day at Edmonton, Alberta while listening to all the beautiful loud trucks driving through Calgary trail. I was picking up some gas for my mom's Jerry can so that she can fill up her gas lawn mower for the year.

Captured some lightning across the lake as we were camping out. Not only that, but look close and you can catch our 2nd sighting of lightning bugs! Such a magical sight to see. Having fun playing with all the things these phone cameras can do! This was in Northern Ontario, and we have covered a lot of ground since then!

We're back in Ontario! After around 5 months in Atlantic Canada, we hit the road once again. At the beginning of April we drove around the south shore of Nova Scotia, returned to Newfoundland to catch the eclipse and host a couple EV meetups, over to Shediac, New Brunswick for an amazing Earth Day event, to Montreal for their EV Expo, and now to Ontario where Rocky is in the shop getting all tuned up for the Toronto EV and EV Charging Expo May 1-2!
It's been a great adventure with a few long driving days to get here. We are excited to continue on the journey to meet more EV drivers all across the rest of Canada!

Such an amazing feat of engineering. The Confederation Bridge connecting Prince Edward Island with New Brunswick various proposals for a fixed lake across the Northumberland strait can be traced as far back as the 1870s when the provinces railway systems were developed subsequent proposals, a rose during federal elections in the late 1950s and early '60s, the EBB and flow of public support for a fixed link was indirectly tied to the varying levels of federal investment and ferry and steamship connections to the province over the years. Finally, culminating in a proposal in the mid 1980s which resulted in the construction of the current bridge that opened in 1997.

We made it over 600km on our "goo-filled" tire all the way from Halifax, to Saint John, to Fredericton! We are so relieved that everything came together just in time so we could safely get back on the road and continue our EV Road Trip! The Maritimes have given us quite the challenges, but we have been able to overcome them with help from some amazing people! The journey continues on to eastern New Brunswick where we have a few more events planned and many more kms ahead.

Oh man what a saga that whole thing was. It took us a lot of work to be able to sort all that out. We were just about to check out of our accommodations and I came around the corner to start loading the truck and found that our back passenger tire was flat completely 100%. So what do you do?! Well, luckily since we're driving a Rivian, it has its own on board compressor.
So I filled the tire all the way back up. Kept it plugged in while we were packing the truck and when we started driving. Found that the automatic tire pressure sensors can also fill up the truck while it's in motion.
This got us over to @garageevcanada Chad and his team over there did us a huge favor and was able to spray a spare tire sealant kit into the tire. This definitely saved the day and got us to our next destination: Fredericton, where we had a set of tires waiting for us.

@jimgilbertswheelsanddeals welcomed us into their lot to host an EV showcase with tons of help from the team at Véhicules Électrique NB Electric Vehicles. We had a great turnout, chatted with lots of folks about our EV driving experience, and enjoyed hot apple cider mulled using the power of the Rivian! We had the hot plate running for 2.5 hours straight and only lost about 3km range, less than 1%!

There is nothing this truck can't handle. Its been such a great experience finding crazy terains to drive this machine through and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have the ability to bust yet another EV Myth:
Those things can't handle the winter. You'll get stuck as soon as there's any snow.
Well we've been driving through Nova Scotia's freak blizzard all week and have had a great time :)
