We are unbelievably excited to welcome Jeremy Dutcher to ArtSpring for a sold-out show this weekend. Jeremy is a Two-Spirit song carrier, activist, ethnomusicologist, and classically trained operatic tenor with powerhouse vocals. Jeremy launched onto the scene with the album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, which is sung entirely in Wolastoqey, his ancestral language. This album won Jeremy his first Polaris Music Prize. With his second album, Motewolonuwok, he became the only person ever to win the prize twice.

With so much acclaim, it comes as little surprise that Dutcher’s ArtSpring performance sold out nearly immediately. Missed your chance to buy tickets? The 2025/2026 ArtSpring Presents season is our biggest yet, and there are still plenty of exciting performances ahead. Thank you Chris Arnett for his personal storytelling of his Grandfather and Grandmother’s time in the First World War and for sharing his deep knowledge of Salt Springers in war time. Alan Bibby’s lovely exhibition, What These Eyes Have Seen, is a wonderfully curated telling of the personal stories of our Community veterans.

The ArtSpring box office and administrative offices will be closed this Tuesday, November 11th for Remembrance Day. However, the gallery will remain open from 10:00am – 4:00pm! Take a moment to honour local heroes and explore contemporary voices with our two powerful exhibitions:

"What These Eyes Have Seen - Witness to War" is a moving tribute to veterans with Salt Spring ties and the experiences their families carry to this day.

"Vox" spotlights Canadian contemporary photographers as they use the lens to navigate the beauty and uncertainty of life in these unprecedented times.

Join us to reflect and discover.

Our Story

ArtSpring is an 11,800 square-foot, two-level heavy timber structure boasting a 5,200-square-foot exhibition/ multi- purpose area and a 6,600-square-foot, 265-seat theatre.

ArtSpring’s activities are primarily associated with rentals by local professionals, semi-professionals, amateurs, school groups, guilds, and visual artists. Events presented by ArtSpring are chosen to complement, enhance, and diversify what is already available through local arts organizations. The building was officially opened by artists Birgit and Robert Bateman in April 1999. Photo by Ale Mendoza.
