I wasn’t going to do a recap this year.

Start to finish, this year has thrown so many challenges and curve balls - and it’s hard looking back without thinking of those more difficult moments.

I sat with my coffee this morning and thought of my amazing friend - and how she has reminded me over the years to “Find Magic in the Mess” … so I decided to do that today.

I scrolled a year of photos and videos, and oof did some pics remind me of really hard days - many hidden behind a smile. But. I was reminded of the glimmers of 2024. The little moments that maybe didn’t seem big enough to share, alongside the ones that did.

I almost forgot I threw my bra on stage at Shawn Desman 😂 Surprise visits from friends. More Friendships growing into family. Doorstep deliveries on hard days. A simple “I am here for you” text. Quiet mornings where the kids decided to all get along. A good hair day. Jump scares. Seeing strangers hug at the airport. Solo Adventures and the beauty of nature that we so often overlook. Many little moments I had overshadowed with bigger, difficult ones, but I’m glad I revisited.

Maybe your recap is start to finish highlights. Maybe your recap is one or two moments that you want to remember. Maybe you can’t bring yourself to do a recap because something(s) happened this year that makes it too difficult to share anything. All of this is okay. Remember that no matter how many glimmers you did or didn’t have this year - you matter and your feelings are valid.

To everyone that was a part of my 2024 - the growth, the glimmers, the support, the jump scares, and the memories - thank you. Wishing you a safe and happy night, however you are spending it, and wishing all the happiness for 2025.

I won’t be sharing any goals or ins/outs this year - I’ve decided to keep them close to my heart - but I am loving seeing everyone’s posts ✨ Just remember as you (if you) make your lists, that you don’t need to fit into anyone else’s vision but your own.

Hope your next few days are filled with love & laughter (and boundaries). To anyone struggling this time of year - you’re not alone. It’s okay if this isn’t a magical time for you. Give yourself grace and try to be gentle with yourself 💕

I’ll be trying to take a few days away from posting on socials (or as best as I can…😂) and focusing on festive fun with the kiddos and friends.

As cliché as it sounds…

…it’s so important to remember that not everything is black and white.

The strongest people you know may be struggling in silence. The bravest people you know may be facing fears you couldn’t imagine. The ones who are always put together could be completely maxed out for capacity. The people pleasers could be one “yes” away from breaking down. Someone close to you could be one tight hug away from completely shattering.

This time of year can be difficult, even on the best days. 2024 has been difficult for many, also even on the best days.

Compassion. Grace. Kindness. This time of year, and always, goes so far. We never know what anyone is going through. Just because someone is only comfortable sharing the good publicly on socials, doesn’t make their bad any less important. Someone “having it worse” isn’t a reason not to open up - because your hurt matters too.

Let’s open more conversations, send more kind messages or reels, compliment a stranger, or even pick a small, random act of kindness. It all goes so far - especially around the holidays 🎄

Dance like no one is watching…or because everyone is watching.

Music is my time machine, my therapist, my friend, and my necessity every day. Im sure I’ve posted this message (and maybe even this photo) before, but I’m in my music feels today.

Come tell me one or all of these music fun facts and I’ll draw a coffee winner:

• Fave song

• What song is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor?

For me:
• I could NEVER pick a fave song - I’d have to do that by genre.
• Fave place to dance is any dance floor with my girls, or in my kitchen.
• Fave dancing memory….oof…I remember the first time I danced on a speaker in West Ed when I was 18 if that counts 😂
• Car concerts are mandatory. Especially on road trips.
• Anything Eminem - obvs…and Saturday Night by Whigfield. Clear a path.

I’ve been thinking about coordinating a bus trip to Edmonton for an Oilers game. Your ticket would include an upper level ticket to a game, bus trip to and from the game, and one night’s hotel stay.

🎀 Bella’s Ball 🎀

Thank you to everyone who was a part of making today’s event so special.

We celebrated and honored Bella for her birthday with lots of her favorite things : Princesses, Super Heroes, Dancing, Singing, Yummy Treats, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Tattoos, Sparkles, Pink, and Friendship.

We filled two boxes of brand new toys that will be taken to downtown office tomorrow, and our donation to will be finalized mid-week, but we are looking to be right around the $500 mark.

💕 Welcome home to the next owner 💕

Today we said our last goodbyes to our Brighton home. Like every home, it’s been full of ups and downs, and I’ve really tried to remember both the good and the bad as we’ve been packing up to move. We’ll carry forward the lessons and the good times, and leave behind what we no longer need to carry.

I’m so grateful for everything this home gave us, and we are really looking forward to what’s to come in our new home.

“There’s only one place I want to go, and it’s to all the places I’ve never been to.” This morning I went on a two hour solo adventure - I still don’t completely know where I was (serial killers have entered the chat) - but those are my favorite kind. I just googled “nice walking trails in Swift Current” and ended up having an incredible couple hours to myself….as well as two cats, a squirrel, a snake, a lovely couple in their 80’s AND I got to bump into @kylact and Waylon at the playground - which made my whole day. I only partially got lost, and only ‘almost’ fell into a creek (which @shawnmule29 pointed out that it’s THE creek, not A creek….sorry Swift 😅). I love just driving or walking and seeing where I end up, and this morning was SO needed. Where is your favorite random place you’ve ended up without meaning to?
